10 days short of a year ago we picked Rozier Hunter and Mickey(and Thornton I suppose)

A year later, what does everyone think about those players, not the picks. I understand a lot of people wanted Portis etc. but Im interested to see how people project those guys, now that weve watched them (even if the mostly rode the bench) for a year.

list of people drafted in 2015 https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2015_NBA_draft

so players drafted after Rozier, RJ, and Mickey, I think to me at least Josh Richardson stands out. I didn't follow much Miami ball this year but I think Josh played pretty well in the playoffs.

Rozier was also a surprise in the playoffs as I didn't expect BS to give him that much minutes for him when he didn't play much in the regular season

So all in all, I have to say, judging our draft position, I think we did ok

I like Rozier and Mickey.  Hunter looks like he could be ok if he can ever get his shot down, which was supposed to be his calling card.  He is totally in his own head out there though when he goes to shoot

Im in a similar boat. I still like all 3, but they obviously have a ways to go. My concern with hunter is that if he cant knock down shots we cant justify playing him ahead of any of our gaurds or wings because he doesnt bring anything else extraordinary. Rozier will force his way on the court with his athleticism rebounds etc. and from here I think he will be able develop into a very good player. I think he could be key in allowing Ainge to trade one of our gaurds without worrying about losing too much.  Mickey I also am optimistic about.

Powell was very good in the playoffs as well.

I'm really happy with Mickey at the spot we got him. Rozier is showing signs of developing. Probably turns out to be a pretty good pick where he was (though I wanted Portis and Rozier wasn't even on my radar for the #16).

I had to talk myself into RJ Hunter at the time and I'm still skeptical. But at pick #28 or whatever I can't complain.

  • Eagerly Awaiting the Next Fantasy Draft
Rozier has grown on me, RJ's value has decreased in my mind and Mickey is about the same.
DKC:  Rockets
CB Draft: Memphis Grizz
Players: Klay Thompson, Jabari Parker, Aaron Gordon
Next 3 picks: 4.14, 4.15, 4.19

I'm intrigued by Mickey and convinced Rozier will be, at worst, a rotation player in the future. I've cooled on RJ, and on a related note, expect Young to be waived.
Isaiah, you were lightning in a bottle.

I'd much rather have Portis or RHJ than Rozier.  Seemed to be better players and are both at more of a position of need.

I'd have also rather gambled on a guy like McCullough instead of Hunter.  If he wasn't injured he likely would have been a lottery pick and for a team like Boston that seems like the type of gamble worth taking.
2023 Historical Draft - Brooklyn Nets - 9th pick

Bigs - Pau, Amar'e, Issel, McGinnis, Roundfield
Wings - Dantley, Bowen, J. Jackson
Guards - Cheeks, Petrovic, Buse, Rip

  • Sometimes there's no sane reason for optimism
I was a humongous RHJ supporter and would have been 'satisfied' with Portis or J. Anderson. I was totally surprised/disappointed by the Rozier pick, but the more I see of him, the more I see what Ainge was thinking. The guy really does have loads of potential and I really hope he doesn't end up as a trade throw-in.

I was psyched with RJ and Mickey - still can see why both were selected and would not necessarily retroactively select somebody else in their slots. Unfortunately for them, we have so many picks this year that is makes 'definitely' keeping them a major question mark. I really don't see how Young or RJ survive this offseason without some serious consolidation.

EDIT: I just remembered Montrezl Harrell went after RJ, but before Mickey. I absolutely loved Harrell's game and wanted him on the Cs, but thought that RJ was a decent choice because of his slide.

Agreed. I am not at all enamored with Ainge's performance in last year's draft. At all.

Better about Rozier and Mickey, worse about Hunter. I thought Hunter was an absolute steal at 28.

RHJ and Bobby Portis might have been the better pick for us.  However Rozier did flash some good things.

Hard to see who would have been better than Hunter or Mickey that late in the draft.  It was a pretty poor draft overall once you left the early 20's.

Are you EVER enamored with Ainge's performance in drafts?
I could very well see the Hawks... starting Taurean Prince at the 3, who is already better than Crowder, imo.

you vs. the guy she tells you not to worry about

Hard to judge them fairly when CBS didn't give them enough playing time to be comfortable.  The knock on Rozier was, could he hit the three.  I think he showed he can.  Knock on RJ was, could he play defense.  I loved his defense.  His long arms got in a lot of passing lanes.  So I think we did pretty well but lets see what another year's development brings.
