Dudley appeared on Celtics Beat and talked about his impending FA, the rising cap space and the Boston Celtics (as well as the city in general).

I hope we get Dudley using the MLE or sign him on a deal like 4 Years/26M (6.5M/Year).

Dudley is a scorer off the bench who can hit threes at a good rate (42% last season), and overall has a 47% FG percentage.

His versatility is also a positive as he can play SF, SG, or even PF if needed. We may need depth behind Crowder at SF and Dudley can play the Smallball 4 if needed.

What do you guys think of Dudley? Yay or Nay?

If Turner proves to be too costly and we lose the Durant sweepstakes, yay to a 1+1...

Dudley would be perfect in Boston, he plays hard, can shoot 3's and is a great locker room guy. His ability to deal with the media would also be really liked here.

However, I think it will depend on what else we do. If we trade for and draft a bigs then I don't see him as a great fit because right now he's best as a stretch 4.

As a BC alum, I would love to see him back in the Boston area.
DKC:  Rockets
CB Draft: Memphis Grizz
Players: Klay Thompson, Jabari Parker, Aaron Gordon
Next 3 picks: 4.14, 4.15, 4.19

He'd be a great addition but again he's a 7th or 8th man on a good team, just like so many of our other guys are. If we let Turner walk I give him a hard look without hesitation however. He could be a great piece off the bench.

Meh = he is a fine bench player but nothing to get excited about.

We could use a wing with decent size who can hit the three, but signing Dudley seems like something you do when Plans A through Q have fallen through.

Need the star before adding another guy to the bench especially with 8 draft picks.

I like Dudley a lot...If we make some big moves, He'd be perfect as a late Summer signing...Like James Posey was.
Larry Bird was Greater than you think.

Same as everyone, Dudley is a decent bench player but does zero to move the meter. A status quo move in the absence of signing/trading for a star.

Don't like his defense. Decent player otherwise, but won't move the needle.

I wonder what he's looking for in a contract anyways? If it's multiple years I'm not interested at all.

Tying up cap space on mediocre players could cost us severely down the road when we're pursuing big free agents.

A Jonas/amir-type partially-guaranteed deal might be acceptable, as the shortness of the deal gives the contract value in trades. Anything longer would be ill-advised cap-wise; it also worries me taking PT away from our younger players.

We already have Jerebko not sure Dudley is an upgrade over him, but if all else fails and Turner bolts town than sure.

I'm down. At the very least, he provides us with more depth, shooting, and eliminates the needs for Turner off the bench, thus giving Marcus more time on the ball (good for his development)
I could very well see the Hawks... starting Taurean Prince at the 3, who is already better than Crowder, imo.

you vs. the guy she tells you not to worry about

We could use him. Especially if Jae ends up getting injured again. We are pretty thin at the 3 spot, hence why signing Dudley could benefit our team given that he can play SF and shoot well.

Jack of all trades, master of none.
