Hmmm, maybe this season ends with Cleveland and Love at serious odds with each other, allowing Danny to swoop in with a lowball offer to acquire Love, who finds himself desperate to rebuild his value and thus plays out-of-his-mind awesome for Boston the next few seasons? ;D

or not...

Thing is, if you're Cleveland, what do you want from Boston for Love?

I think the answer is probably Avery Bradley and Jae Crowder. Maybe Marcus Smart as well.

Love is nice, but does it make sense for the Celts to unload basically their entire wing rotation minus Evan Turner to get him?

No, I don't think so.  I mean, maybe if you then went ahead and signed Kevin Durant and Dwight Howard, that would work out just fine.  Doesn't seem very likely to me, though.

I think it has to be a 3-team trade.

Boston sends Crowder to Cleveland, picks to third team; third team sends starting-caliber PF to Cleveland.

Melo to CLE, Love to BOS, and #3 pick/Amir/Young/Hunter to NYK.

People here will probably freak but that seems fair to me.

If were including one of Crowder/Bradley/Smart then we have to keep #3. That would've been a fair trade a year ago, or even at the deadline, but not now.

Now I think we either give them Bradley, Hunter and 23 or Bradley, Young and 16. Or perhaps we trade back from 3 to 7 with Denver for a guy like Barton or Nurkic, then trade 7 to the Knicks in a Melo/Love 3 way. If we do that we keep Bradley though.

If the Bradley/Love deal would go down, I'd try really hard to trade number three for Butler without giving up Crowder. A lineup of IT, Butler, Crowder, Love, and Amir has Cleveland upset written all over it.

KLove's contract is insane though! Even with the new salary cap, that's a lot of cheddar.

Let the narratives roll on! The further K-Loves price goes down the better off we'll be when Danny chases after him again.

At this rate, we'll be giving them Jerebko and a moldy sandwhich. It'll look insane when he's averaging 21/12 on a 55 win Celtic team next year.

What did Jonas do to deserve that insult?  ;D

I actually think it is very reasonable considering that in 2019-2020, the last year of Love's deal, when he's making $25m, a Max salary for a veteran is going to be about $41m per year.

It's extremely reasonable, and Wyc can afford it. It's time to spread some cheddar to improve this team on the floor.

I want to see the Kings trade for Love.

Gay, Casspi, WCS for Love.

How fun would that be?

Boogie and love in Sacto.

Rudy Gay and WCS finishing lobs from Bron and Kyrie.

I think Love would be extremely unhappy playing in SAC. In terms of personality, I think he and Boogie would mix like oil and vinegar.

Would be great for CLE, though.

You're probably right, but where is love likely to be happy at this point? I don't think the list includes teams that would be willing to give up a lot to get him.
