I think it would be fair to say that the value of Kevin Love is at all time low. While I agree with everyone he is an awful fit in Cleveland, one also can't argue that, at a minimum teams have become a lot better at exploiting him on defense and his rebounding and athleticism is down a little bit from his time in Minnesota (this could be due to some injuries with his back or lost strength in his shoulder).

On the other hand, Wiggins has lived up to the hype as a scorer and at worst an average defender and seems like he could begin challenging for all star games (he averaged 21 points on 46% shooting this year) all while being 21 years old. These first two years were supposed to be the years that Love offered the biggest advantage over Wiggins and it appears that the Cavs (barring a pretty drastic turnaround in the finals) will not win a title.

How long does this trade haunt the Cavs? Do they now miss the chance to challenge for a title over the next 3-4 years as lebron declines and Wiggins ascends? You throw in the fact that Love makes 15 million more a year than Wiggins and the Cavs are over the luxury tax and this trade becomes even harder to swallow.

I don't know if it haunts Cleveland because Kevin Love is probably a better fit than Andrew Wiggins next to LeBron James. Love can stretch the floor and knock down the shots, albeit he gives up points on the defensive end.

Wiggins is a good slasher and draws fouls at a high rate, but isn't a floor spacer. Wiggins is a career 30% 3 point shooter and it seems as though Cleveland is trying to play similar to GSW but without the elite perimeter shooting.  What Wiggins provides defensively wouldn't make up for his lack of shooting.

I said it the day they traded Wiggins off would go down in history as one of the all time blunders in NBA .

Wiggins to me is way more useful than sissy KLove .

Dumb Dumb Dumb .......Wiggins was cheap contract .....could have used Loves salary to get better role players or center .

If LeBron was behind this awful trade ....Cleveland should run him out of town.

Eh probably not. Trying to maximize LeBron's time in his second stint in Cleveland is understandable, even if Love hasn't worked out like they hoped with Irving and LeBron.

I still think people focus way to much on Love instead of Iriving.

Well the thing is, Irving was already there and was still very young so there was some hope that he could develop further and would play better with more surrounding talent. On the other hand they went out of their way to trade for Love from another organization and gave up a huge trade chip in doing so (Wiggins). That makes the Love trade a lot easier to criticize than a non-trade of Irving (who has not developed his playmaking skills in his two years with Lebron).

Also what happened to LeBron's jump shot?

It died in the 2014 Finals versus the Spurs suddenly and never came back.

No kidding. The guy cannot make a jumper. It's amazing.

It's not like Wiggins would have been ready to help them in the Finals these last two years.

I guess the question is who else they could have gotten with the #1 pick instead.

I hope it does. That's why I don't want him.

I doubt it solely because if the Cavs get swept (or lose in 5) Love will be shown the door.. and you know who will be calling for him DA.

Im surprised its not more of a topic.

Thats when he is truly unstoppable. He hit so many big jumpers against us.

Why?  Hasn't he proven that he isn't worth it?  Plus he guys can't stop getting hurt.  I really hope Love's god-awful performance in the Finals finally puts these "Love-to-Boston" rumors to rest for good.

Yup. It's like 40 to 50 percent of his offensive game is MIA.

It was bad, but not epically so. Wiggins would do even less for the Cavs than Love does. If LeBron leaves, though, then it might start to look really bad.

Getting Love was one of the prerequisites for LeBron going back to Cleveland so it can't really haunt them. Was it a bad trade that was short sighted? Yes
