Quote
Thomas has 356,000 followers on Twitter, and the response, unsurprisingly, swelled in an instant. After a couple minutes, Thomas deleted the tweet. He said he was not instructed by anyone to do so; he just realized that his timing might not be appropriate.

“I just thought it was something nice to do for the world to see, “ Thomas said. “But I didn’t think it was gonna be as big as it got.”

In a telephone interview with the Globe on Sunday from Shanghai, where Thomas is taking part in an NBA initiative to promote the game, Thomas made it clear that his courtship of Durant will not end with one vague and quickly deleted tweet. He said he acquired Durant’s phone number and intends to call him sometime soon.

“I definitely want to give him some time,” Thomas said. “I know that was a tough series and a long season for him. I wouldn’t want anyone calling me up about the biggest decision of my life right after the season’s over. So I’ll probably give him some time and casually talk to him, and then go all-in.”

What would going “all-in” entail?

“I mean, do everything I can to get him to sign, somehow, someway, hopefully,” Thomas said.

He said the Celtics’ decisions to extend the contracts of head coach Brad Stevens and president of basketball operations Danny Ainge sent a “great message” to current and prospective players.

“I think it starts with knowing your foundation is set, and you’ve got to go from there,” Thomas said. “Hopefully, even with the free agents and things like that, players looking into coming to Boston see they’re committed to Danny and Brad and the future.”

I love IT. People are trying to trade him for player X. But unlike Rondo who has a pricky personality, IT seems to be well liked around the league (except maybe Shroder). He's had nothing but good things to say about the C's, and knows what kind of opportunity he's gotten playing for them. If he can sway Horford, Durant could be reachable. Especially if they swing Butler or Okafor.

I would love to see DA go after Bulter and snag Gasol in the process.

IT
Butler
DA
Horford
Gasol

It's a dream, but a scary good dream. LOL

It can't hurt. Perhaps we can combine two different threads:  Which is more likely?  1) Durant signs here or 2) Minnesota accepts Smart for #5.

Not gonna lie, I think Danny Ainge could still scrap with a couple of these young bloods.

Great way for IT to get some job security this Summer.  Lol.  Hard to sell high and trade him when he's your self-proclaimed #1 recruiter.

I think IT was trying to recruit Horford at the all-star break. Somewhere I read that Atlanta wants to trade teague to Philly for Noel which opens up Horford to sign. Boston could be in the running for Horford but I also think Toronto wants to go after Horford and they may resign DeRozen. Horford would be a nice addition not sure where Danny views his value on the team.

If we get Butler, Horford and Durant to  go with IT and our supporting cast, that is a dream come true.  That team is so good though.  I don't think teams are that stupid to just let that happen.  If IT wants to make it happen though.  People want to doubt the little guy and that million dollar smile.

Ainge gave Isaiah an A for dress and an A- for execution at the draft.  Maybe he'll get an A++++++++++++++ in trades and free agent negotiations.

There is no way he is getting traded.
