Dont be fooled by the title of this thread people. The OP really wants you to watch Sabonis play well against a guy that is rumored to be high on the Celtics draft board.

THIS IS REALLY A SABONIS THREAD IN DISGUISE!!!!

maybe. But it is also to show how far chriss is away from being a professional
As compared to who? As far as I am concerned the only player in this draft that isnt very far away from being a "professional", whatever that means but I assume it means a legit NBA player that can contribute positively to a team, is Ben Simmons. I dont see that Chriss is any farther away from being a "professional" than any other prospect and that includes: Ingram, Bender, Dunn, Hield, Murray,   Brown, Skal, Maker, Poeltl, and yes, Sabonis.

Will Chriss be a perfect player? No. Will he have strengths and weaknesses? Yes. Will he take time to develop? Yes. But as far as I am concerned, so will every single other player in this draft. Some players have high floors and low ceilings, others have high ceilings and low floors. Chriss is just a high risk/reward prospect. It doesnt mean he is any farther away from be a pro than anyone else.

By the way, the ridiculousness in thinking one can judge a player's entirety by watching one video of him is off the charts. Same goes for judging Sabonis in the other thread. Its just not very smart to do such things. One video proves exactly squat.

Hard to judge a player on one clip.  Here are some more:

It is pretty clear, he has some strengths too.

I heard we like Brown and Chriss.   Could we be trading 3, 16, 23 for Phoenix's picks at 4 and 13 if not blockbuster comes our way?

Prove? It proves you don't like Chriss, so your looking to isolate an example that drives that home. That's about it.

  • Boston Celtics= Championships, nothing less.

The Sabonis thread is a dig at this thread...it's not actually serious.
"We are lucky we have a very patient GM that isn't willing to settle for being good and coming close. He wants to win a championship and we have the potential to get there still with our roster and assets."

quoting 'Greg B' on RealGM after 2017 trade deadline.
Read that last line again. One more time.

Oh I know that. Just figured for those that took it serious.....triboy......that I would point it out that you cant judge Sabonis on one video either.

Does the fact he went to UW and grew up in Seattle have anything to do with Boston's rising interest in him?  Thomas went to UW and grew up in Seattle.   I wonder if Thomas knows him and has been encouraging Boston to get him.   Bradley's also from the area (Tacoma).

So is Scal, right, because only the great ones come from Washington (sarcasm) ::) ;D.

Don't you dare take the GOATs name in vain.

nope. Sabonis could be x y z player

just the lack of "wanting it" is bothersome.      Chriss has to try harder to grab the defensive rebounds. Can't you imagine if this happened under CBS?  He would be benched

I raised this in one of the 362 other Chriss threads. I hope that Thomas knows Chriss well enough to give Ainge a detailed assessment of the kid. Ainge now knows Thomas well enough to take elements he needs to know in assessing the player and the person. I hope he hears good things.

It's only a 10 second clip so it doesn't really "prove" anything.  However it highlights the fact that talent and athleticism can be "outworked".  And that was certainly the case in that clip.  Besides Chriss' motor though, the talk of his low BBIQ concerns me a lot more.

It proves the refs didn't catch Sabonis when he pushed Chriss in the back
