World class athlete but this type of effort is unacceptable.  Just not enough effort to secure the rebounds.

On the other hand watch how hungry Sabonis is after the ball.

Yeah, I'm not sure what the hype is about Chriss other than athletic, doesn't seem like a Stevens guy.

Sabonis I've been liking. He competes. And if he's half of what his dad was, I'd be happy if he's still around at 16. Need a good PF that can shoot, rebound and pass....Oh and stay in shape.

Sabonis gets away with a push in the back on the 2nd board. But yeah, Chriss is a terrible defensive rebounder. Like, incredibly incredibly bad.

i am not sure the clip "proves" much of anything. it does, however, lend support to reports that chriss is a terrible (i mean historically bad) defensive rebounder for a college pf.

i think chriss' flaw in this, and in terms of "motor", push him down my wish list. #3 seems a reach to me.

and triboy, as much as i like sabonis, he remains physically limited in terms of playing in the nba. having said that, were the celtics to pick him at #16 i would be fine with it.
I believe Gandhi is the only person who knew about real democracy — not democracy as the right to go and buy what you want, but democracy as the responsibility to be accountable to everyone around you. Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.

Only watched the first 10 seconds or so, but that's all effort. Be mindful that he's far more interested in run-down blocks and big plays than boxing out for a routine rebound. So unless he has an attitude issue, his rebounding can likely improve significantly.

This clip manages to 'prove' that in the 17 second interval recorded, Chriss got schooled.  Predictive value?

Does the fact he went to UW and grew up in Seattle have anything to do with Boston's rising interest in him?  Thomas went to UW and grew up in Seattle.   I wonder if Thomas knows him and has been encouraging Boston to get him.   Bradley's also from the area (Tacoma).

Lol yeah.

I doubt it's a big deal, but I wonder if having a lot of people around the team with Washington roots might give them a little bias.  Maybe those guys watched Marquese Chriss more than others, you know?

There was an article the other day that Thomas is advising Chris and they also workout together when Thomas is in town.

Dont be fooled by the title of this thread people. The OP really wants you to watch Sabonis play well against a guy that is rumored to be high on the Celtics draft board.

THIS IS REALLY A SABONIS THREAD IN DISGUISE!!!!

And Jared Sullinger can learn to take care of his body. Marcus Smart can learn how to shoot. Kelly Olynyk can learn how to box out ...

I get tired of the tendency a lot of us have to gloss over a player's flaws. Players can certainly grow and improve, but more often than not, terrible rebounders do not turn into Andre Drummond, awful shooters don't morph into Steph Curry and lazy players don't throw their bodies around like Marcus Smart.

Send this clip to mock drafters, triboy, Sabonis has been dropping like a rock. Could be available at 16 after all.
