Personally, I would trade for Jimmy Butler because I think he has a higher ceiling than any player we could take at 3.
I don't know if his ceiling is higher than any player. He's pretty much right at were he's going to be. He's 26, will be 27 buy the start of the season. He's a VERY good player, but to say Okafor and player X that we haven't seen play in the NBA doesn't have a shot to being a better player is a bit crazy.
Butler shot 31% from 3 this year, and people on here rip Smart for shooting close to the same his rookie year. AB cost half as much and gets 5pt less a game.
I'm not of the Bender band wagon, not yet anyways, but Brown,Murry,Heild could all have greater ceilings or as high ceilings as Butler, and be there in a couple years. Okafor is 20, and is a really good low post player, playing for a crap organization, who was more focused on getting the #1 picked than developing their players.
Now if you have a legit shot at Durant, yes you trade #3 for Butler, and even give up AB or Smart if you have to. But if Durant isn't an option, I'd roll with Brown,Murry, or Heild. I'm leaning to Murry right now because of his age, and how competitive he has been rumored in work outs. But Heild is right there because I think out of those three, he's the most NBA ready.
