I am really really curious what people say here. If you had to start the Celtics from scratch and you could only have one of these what do you go with?

Smart and 3rd pick

Smart is the youngest asset, a great defender and hopefully can develop a more well-rounded offensive game. On top of that, Celtics would be able to draft a foundational player with the 3rd pick.

Bradley and the 3rd.

Bradley is locked into a below-market contract, so he's either a) a good piece to build around or b) a really attractive trade chip.

Jae and #3. Jae is a fantastic player on one of the league's best contracts. He would help to mentor young players and build a strong culture. The pick gives you a shot at a star.
Isaiah, you were lightning in a bottle.

I'm trying to make the Rozier option as attractive as possible, but I don't think anyone will pick it

You're underestimating the Mickey crowd there.

Smart and 3. Use 3 on dunn, backcourt for years to come. Best defensive back court In the league within a few years. Will need to get shooters, but you would need things for any option in these scenarios.

Smart+#3 and it isn't close

Edit: actually, maybe it's close with Crowder. His contract is so awesome. Much better than AB's imo.

I really wanted the Marcus Smart option but chose:Rozier, KO, #16, #23, #31, #35, #45, #58, RJ Hunter, and Jordan Mickey.

I just think the more cracks you get at it, the more likely you find something. I have to guess that at least one of those picks turns into something special and Mickey could still be a good find...

So in terms of going out to get Kevin Durant (or some other all star type player) you all think the thing he would generally be most attracted to is Smart and the 3rd pick?

Because I definitely think he would count Westbrook and IT ahead of that. When players are trying to decide where to go and who to play with I think they think of playing with the best players, not unproven young guys.

Also I think IT coming here is why this team has become as good as it has more than any other thing. In a normal year I might go with Smart and 3, but this is a two player draft and Smart is nowhere near the 5th best player in his draft.

Marcus Smart sucks. He will never live up to his hype. I see a 2nd string bench role player that's it. I'd rather get rid of that mistake then to try n build around him.

Smart is a solid young player and helped Boston win playoff games basically single-handedly.

Except when he was shooting airballs where he sorta helped lose them single handedly.

His offensive game is a work-in-progress but he rose to the occasion when Stevens told him to defend Millsap when he was torching the Celtics.
