Yawn. Just another high rising explosive scorer who won't be able to push his way into the paint like he did in college. But I've eaten my words before... So who knows?

I'll pass on Brown if it means using a top 3 pick on someone with so many flaws.

The reason I don't like him is he can't shoot. He's a fine athlete, and while his basketball skills are a little lacking, that's not my main problem. We need guys who can shoot. He's not one of them.

He seems like a Gerald Green/Kedrick Brown/JR Giddens 2.0. He was one of those kids blessed with an NBA body at 16 years of age and got by because he was so much more physically gifted than his peers. He didn't develop an NBA skillset because of that. I'd take a gamble on him at 16 though.

Not sure how cherry picking an action from a YouTube highlight reel differentiates an entire body of work though. Right now just about everything in Brown's game/skill-set is attributed to him being an insanely good athlete ...People who are fast and can jump high can block people from behind on occasion.

Avery Bradley is an insanely good athlete. If we are talking about a wing, I have no idea. Probably Giddens lol. Gerald Wallace was on the team last year, but he wasn't the same athlete he was 5 years ago.

Depends on how you define "insanely" but I'd say the closest ones to that definition were the Greens. Jeff and Gerald.

Agree with the majority sentiment: Celtics need to draft a player that has range/perimeter shooting. Brown is athletic but lacking a shot.

First, I'm a Cal alum so I watched a lot of brown last year.  For many of the reasons already stated, I would not draft brown and three.  And I disagree that he is an insanely good athlete.  A good one, yes.  Insanely good, no.

That jump shot will limit him quite a bit.  And there is a question of how well he can pplay without the ball.

Now on the plus side, brown has a rather slippery way about him.  I mean, he seems to slither his way to the basketball with relative ease.  He's a pretty good finisher but that will be more difficult in the NBA.

Bottom line:  I'd pick him from 6-8 but not at three.

I also went to Cal and so follow the b-ball team there, part-time.  If only Jaylen had a jump shot and a modest level of understanding of the game, he'd be vying for the #1 overall slot.  Agree completely with you that picks 6-8 should be his range. 

Do you like Ivan Rabb?  Barring injury, I think he will be a top ten pick in the next draft and might prove to be a nice fit for CBS and the Celts.
