I love this thread idea; i was actually thinking about this myself before logging on. TP

I would not mind getting all three at all. They all have high ceilings, and the odds that at least 1 of the 3 reaches their potential under the Ainge/Stevens regime is pretty good. If 2 of them hit their potential, it'd be amazing. If all 3 did, it wouldn't be fair. It would certainly be fun watching them all develop. (Kind of like how KD, Westbrook, and Harden all matured and got better simultaneously, year-to-year. They pushed each other to improve every day. A man can dream, right?)

Who knows? We could witness the manifestation of the next great "tall ball" dynasty.

Bender:
+ Great physical tools to get on the next level
+ Has the "chip on his shoulder" mentality
+ Good court awareness on both sides
+ Good court vision and passing
+ Have an okay shooting mechanics
+ Have good defensive positioning despite the lack of strength

Maker:
+ Like Bender, he also have a good work ethic
+ Potential to be a good/great shooter
+ Ability to play iso in the perimeter
-  Lack of feel for the game
-  Small hands which make it more difficult to catch lobs
-  Can be ballhog at times
-  Poor passer with tunnel vision

Zhou Qi

- Language barrier

Estimated guesses on what little I know of these guys ...

Defense

(1) Maker
(2) Bender
(3) Qi

Rebounding

(1) Maker
(2) Qi
(3) Bender

Passing

(1) Bender
(2) Qi
(3) Maker

Scoring

(1) Bender
(2) Qi
(3) Maker

Total = (1) Bender (2) Maker (3) Qi

Thon Maker is the best athlete, defender & rebounder. His offensive game looks very sketchy though and needs a lot of work. If he cannot fix his offensive game, he may never be more than an energy big. If he can fix his offensive game, he has star potential even with role player level scoring given his defensive talent & rebounding.

Qi is the worst athlete & defender of the group. I am concerned by how little he scored in a weak Chinese basketball league. I am also concerned by his lack of mobility and athleticism when facing NBA caliber athletes. Highest bust potential. A good success story would be making it as a backup NBA center. Low likelihood of more than that.

Bender looks a strong defensive forward and capable rebounder. Has an outside jump-shot but unsure how much else he can create on offense. Seems to have some ball-handling and passing but I question how good those qualities really are. If they were as good as billed, why wasn't he playing more? I am guessing he is closer to a Jerebko level ball-handler and passer than his billing as a true playmaking PF. Bender has the best two-way game is the most ready to contribute in the NBA.
