Bender is Tyler Zeller.
on the surface, this appears to be a shallow and inaccurate comparison. please expand and explain why you think these two players are so similar. thanks.
Both 7 feet tall with average wingspans, wirey frames, run the court well, mediocre rebounders for their size, can get pushed around by large bodies, both prefer to faceup and have marginal post game. Neither can create their own shot.
Bender has better range. Zeller has a much better pedigree -- ACC player of the year. Averaged 16 and 10. Not sure if Bender has ever had a 10 point game, but he averages around 5 points and 3 fouls.
Bender's standing reach is 9'3. Zeller's is 8'8.5
They're both tall, fast white guys that get moved around a lot. That's really where the comparisons end. One is 18 and is (probably) going to grow, the other is 26 and will not grow.
I personally think a Taller Jerebko is a better comparison--And that'd be really really good to have on this team.
