An unproven big who has performed poorly in lower-level leagues is what we want?

Uh, no.

Give me Okafor.
Coined the CelticsBlog term, "Euromistake."

We need stars regardless.  KO is a good player but drafting later Ainge gets us guys like KO and Bradley who develop and are good players but  Paul George went before Bradley.  Bender could be better than KO.

We are up in the draft where we need to take advantage of it regardless.

KO and bradley were projects taken later who we've developed.

Last year we weren't in position to draft Okafor or Porzingis. Iw anted both.  This year we are.

Ainge has taken guys like  Marshon Brooks when we could have drafted Jimmy Butler too.

There's no reason to think Bender because Danny is gonna trade for Okeafor and that's pretty much it. The only other changes on the Celtics will be if we trade 2nd rounders along with the other two 1st rounders to squire either a proven player or pick a pet project. The other reason our roster changes is in FA. I can see Danny signing Kevin Martin for perimeter shooting. I can see him trying to go after DeRoizen but not sure if that will fall through he wants to go to LA. We will see what happens.

I think the rumors Ainge is interested in Okafor is one of the legit ones but saying taht's going to happen is about the same thing right now.  If it was set in stone it would be done.

Love, Okafor, Butler I'll believe it when I see it. Until then we have to draft someone and are in position to do that this year and get a good player ourselves vs having to trade for other players teams have drafted.

That's the absurdity of all of this.  Love, Okafor, Butler, Paul George.  Ainge could have drafted them himself if he was in position to do that.  He was for Butler and blew it.  This year we actually have a high pick.

If he had just let Garnett and pierce get old we might have sucked last year and gotten Okafor or Porzingis.

So now we have a high pick.   We got Marcus the year we tanked with Rondo.  We have the nets picks the next 2 years and right to swap instead of our own sucking.

I want to draft Bender and trade for Noel. This is all assuming that Bender pans out, but I love the idea of two long, mobile bigs that can actually play alongside one another because one can shoot.

are you his agent?

No I just asked a question.  Amazing how many people assumed I was saying something else though. I asked a question in reference to another thread I made.

I don't see anything I said here that even says that either. Tone of voice is lost over the internet etc.  But just asked a question, and said BEnder's stats are basically meaningless in europe because they are and that Bender fits a certain skill set.  He played about an hour of basketball over there.

People be crazy. There is nothing in this thread that says that if you actually read what I said. I asked a question.

Simply put, we want a big man who can play basketball at an NBA level.

There's little evidence one way or the other to suggest whether Bender can do that.

I think as the draft approaches those questions will be answered somewhat. Whether he is a draft and stash etc...  We have KO who we've been developing who is similar but as far as upside that's in question.  I don't know if the celtics are even opposed to a draft and stash if they can get a top talent down the road.  They might not want to develop him here either.   Either way we aren't beating Lebron without better players and players who can remain healthy.  Crowder, KO and Bradley weren't even healthy when the season ended this time around.  KO is still young and so is bradley but I think their upside can be somewhat questioned. Players develop and hit their primes around the age they are now. Some players continue to get better. Some don't.

Is KO going to continue to get better? Is Bender someone who could  be better down the road? Those are all questions that remain to be answered.  I don't even know if Ainge delves that deep into it. He drafted KO and Bradley and the celtics have developed them somewhat where they have improved each year a bit. KO kind of hit a wall of sorts this year though.

Right now we don't even know if Bender is a guy who can play over here yet.  All these guys are young though.

I'm not opposed to a draft and stash if it's someone who could be really good down the road but the celtics might not want that.

By the time Bender is good KO might be better or KO might just have hit his ceiling.

You mean we want a guy who is paper thin and weak?   One that can barely jump over a phone book? No thanks

Ainge said after the draft immediate help, Bender is not that.

All I know is when looking at prospects and their talent level you can tell who has what.  We need talent and star players ultimately.  All these guys are young. Different situations and who may pan out etc.  But certain players have different upside potential. How that pans out and the meaning of what I mean by it just is what it is.

He's 18 years old.  I'm not saying we want anything except the best players ultimately.

Ainge said after the draft immediate help, Bender is not that.

In fairness, he also said that we'd be taking best player available, even if he took some time to develop.

I have absolutely no idea who Danny will take.
