He wants bender.  Feels we can afford to take a gamble since we are a playoff team and we don't have to give up anything to get him.  We have more picks coming.  We can take an 18 year old and afford to bring him a long and anything he brings is a plus.  Not taking Bender is like not taking a chance on something really great to me.

I don't buy all this we are going to trade for so and so and beat lebron.

I think we are a playoff team.  We can afford to wait a bit and develop guys like Smart another year and take a chance.

We were one of the youngest teams in the league last year.  It's like GS  giving up on Curry, Draymond their rookie years.

If Ainge is smart he will realize Lebron isn't going anywhere for the next 3-5 years.  We should develop our top picks. We need star players and that is the best and most obvious way to do that.

It just doesn't sell papers or give CSN much to talk about for the next 3 years although they will.

So, you believe Bender is the best player available at #3?

We have Marcus in reference to Jamal Murray. Marcus is a better long term prospect imo.

I think he has the most potential yes.  He is a gamble though.  As far as upside he is.

Jamal Murray is the bpa right now probably but he doesn't have that kind of upside plus he's a guard.  Unless we are trading Marcus for Okafor or Paul George and trading Murray or Dunn for Butler etc......

I would just draft Bender though if things check out and keep Marcus and develop them.

Murray to me is bpa right now, but if we take him it would be more to trade him or Marcus or both.  I just think that stuff is far fetched and a gamble in its own way especially with Lebron in his prime right now.

just draft bender and keep marcus and develop them.

We'd have two more potential lottery picks coming up.  Better than trading this years pick and marcus and the rest of the nets picks for 2 borderline stars that can maybe beat lebron?

Problem is we won't really know if things check out until long after the fact.

I'm not saying he's not the best option at #3. I'm saying that I'm yet to be convinced he is.

Still room on the roster for another guard. If BPA is a guard, there's no reason not to take him.

It won't be that long for things to check out. I more mean see where he is at come draft time.  Maybe Ainge isn't as smart as I give him credit for but I can tell if a player is going to be good if I'm able to see enough of him.

Ainge was smart enough to draft players this way in the past.  He isn't fullproof but he's usually pretty good.

A lot of ainge's picks have been later in the draft and based on  upside.

I don't think Ainge should feel pressure to make a trade just the same or draft players that aren't going to beat lebron either.  I think that stuff is silly. If he can make trades that position us to do that that's another story but show it to me.

Murray isn't beating Lebron. I can tell you that right now.  Neither is Hield.  Good players but no. Hield maybe solely as an off guard with a really good supporting case and big men.

Marcus's defense sets him apart.  So does Benders long term upside.  Plus we keep the nets picks the next 2 years.

Wow.  Kid never hits the rim.  Except one time where it went straight up and then swished on the way down.  We could certainly use Murray.

Ainge will find a way to trade Bradley or Smart to free up space if we have to take a guard.

If you knew what next years draft has for big men you would not gamble the 3rd pick on a maybe/unspectacular Bender for a future pf. Bam Bam, Thomas Bryant, Jeanne and etc. are all better gambles IMO.

Murray with 25-27 from NBA 3PT range. Yeah, it's a drill but you'd be hard pressed to find a better shooting display in that setting.

Same ideology Detroit used when they took Darko.
