If Boston drafted Jamal Murray or Buddy Hield I would be thrilled.

My question is this, does Buddy or Murray can be a better 2 than Bradley in 2 years in the offensive side, because I don't know how long Bradley at 6'2 can be at the starting 2.

I haven't been a fan of Murray or Hield at #3 and still say just role the dice with Bender. However in my mind Hield size advantage over Murray should not be over looked by the Celtics. I think between the grit Smart showed in the playoffs guarding the SF and even PF and Hield's sold 6'5 215lb 6'9.25" wing measurements the Cs could fill Turners roles with the youth already on the roster. Smart, Hield, Rozier and either Hunter/Young or a vet role player shooter may fill the role with little issue.

I would add that if the Cs draft Hield I would love to see a consolidation trade where the Cs use #16 + #23 + a few of the seconds to move up as high in the draft as possible to target Ellenson, Poeltl or Chriss. Picking Hield and one of those three would essentially take Turner and Zellers roster spots barring any other trades. Poeltl and Ellenson would likely battle Mickey for a spot in the rotation and Chriss would spend the year in Maine.

Absolutely!!

This is pretty close to my dream 'backup' scenario in the event that we don't get unlikely luck and fall top two.

Assuming we bust out on Simmons and Ingram, my next best case would be to take Hield with the Nets pick, then consolidate the Celtics+Mavs pick to move up and snatch either either Poetly, Ellenson, Labissiere or Sabonis.

If we can't move up into the top 12 and grab one of those guys with the second selection, then I'd maybe see if I could get Sabonis (Mavs pick) and Valentine (Celtics pick).

Then maybe take a gamble on Maker with a high second rounder if he slides that far.

I am intrigued by Ivaca Zubac as well - he'd be a nice potential draft and stash guy who could be a solid two-way starting big in the future.

To be honest I think a lot of people are underestimating this draft.  I have a feeling this draft will end up being the best draft since 2012.

Aside from the superstar potential of Ingram and Simmons, there are a few guys who have possible star potential (Hield, Dunn, Murray, Brown, etc) and quite a lot of guys who could potentially become quality starters (Poetlyl, Ellenson, Bender, Sabonis, Valentine) plus a number of high risk guys who could surprise (Maker, Labissiere, Jackson, Chriss).

There weren't many legit big time players coming out of the past three drafts.  You basically have Wiggins, Towns, Porzingis, Giannis -not a whole lot of great talent beyond that.  Solid talent, but not a lot of special talent.   I feel like this year the top 10-12 guys in the draft are all pretty promising.

I'd like this scenario as well especially since there is no way Celtics are going to keep all 8 players drafted. Should attempt to acquire 2 top talents with all of the draft picks as trade bait.

My question is this, does Buddy or Murray can be a better 2 than Bradley in 2 years in the offensive side, because I don't know how long Bradley at 6'2 can be at the starting 2.

Every team, no matter how great, always has one or two starters who aren't big time players, but who are important to the starting 5 regardless because of all they bring.

Guys like Danny Green in San Antonio, Andrew Bogut in Golden State, etc.

I don't think there's any issue with Bradley being our starting SG for the foreseeable future, and I also don't think there's a problem with Crowder being our starting SF of the future.  HOWEVER I'm not 100% sure if we can reach contender status with those to guys starting together.

Reason being that I feel every team needs 2 or 3 star (or at least borderline star) players to be a true contender.  We have Thomas at PG, so that's one.  If we have Bradley and Crowder starting together, then that means we pretty much need our PF and C both to be start or borederline star players...and star big men are very hard to get a hold of.

For this reason I feel like we are probably going to eventually upgrade one of those wing positions if we want to be contenders.  Either we need bigger wing like Butler to replace Crowder, or we need a quick/athletic wing to replace Bradley.  Either way I think it's very important to maintain that dynamic of one quick wing (like Bradley) to put pressure on the ball handlers, and one bigger wing (like Crowder) to who can switch on to the 2-4 positions.

I like Hield because I think he's more athletic then he's given credit for, and that (combined with his strong frame, 6'5" height, 6'9" wingspan and incredibly high motor/toughness) gives him a lot of potential on the defensive end.  I could see him developing into a 20 PPG scorer who can defend positions 1-3.

A key thing with Hield is his work ethic and motor.  He's been in college four years, and yet he seems to be making big strides/improvements in his game on a yearly basis.  Even this year, his third season in college, he made massive strides. That tells me that his age (22) really ain't nothing but a number with Hield, because he's a guy who will work tirelessly at improving his game.  He's a big time shot taker (and maker) with nearly infinite range on his jumper, and he's deadly in the transition game.  I think he'd be a spectacular fit here, and I could see him alternating between three positions on both ends of the floor thanks to his versatility (much like Turner does now).

His game also is easy to fit.  It fits alongside Smart, Thomas, Bradley, Crowder - combination of size/athleticm combined with his ability to stretch the floor, handle the ball (decently), score in transition and his defensive potential all combine to makes him a really easy player to integrate into a lineup.
