Warming up to Henry Ellenson

He measured very well, nearly 7' tall, 7'2" arm span, 9' standing reach.  Handles the ball well. Young. Plus very cocky in his interviews, which I like. We need more of that on our team. Needs work on 3 point shot, but that will come.  Fran said he reminds him of a young Dirk, a great compliment from a guy who does not hand out compliments that easily.  Seems like a perfect 4/5 in modern NBA.  Good body, a little baby fat, but not a slob.  Could be a fun pick. Had terrific numbers his freshman year.  I did not see him play, would like to get thoughts from those who did. Thanks.

watching video on draft express, my one concern is that he seems to play below the rim pretty much. You are not getting a shot blocker, that's for sure.

Seemed like a 6-7 pick a couple of months ago, but I imagine he has dropped a little bit (same with Poeltl). I think when push comes to shove, the players with greater potential end up moving up the draft board. Both guys should still come in the top 10-11, but barely so.

Helps him a lot that he's almost 7' tall. But I still don't have him as a lottery pick, unless he shoots really well in workouts. He isn't an efficient interior scorer and he will never be a good defender, so he really needs to be a great shooter if he's going to be a useful player.
