Do a Google search for 'long hair Indian Scouts' and this article pops up:

Jae gets his defensive superpowers from his dreadlocks.

Maybe Avery Bradley should grow HIS hair.

When the NBA starts calling fouls on people's hair, yes.

I mean it is probably coming right?   They already call fouls on people's shadows.

And calling fouls on people breathing

  • I'm a Paul Heyman guy.
Wouldn't you be able to move quicker and more freely if you're not carrying a ton of weight?

It seems like the dreads are weighing him down a bit, maybe with a cut, he could move a little more freely. I'm not sure, maybe the he keeps the hair on his head because it does some sort of Samson-ish like powers that make him a high motor energy guy, despite being a bit heavy to carry.

Some of us just feel better with long hair. Like Aragorn about to slay some Orcs.

There are two kinds of people: those who say to God, 'Thy will be done,' and those to whom God says, 'All right, then, have it your way.'

You don't have a soul. You are a Soul. You have a body.

Ok physics, but you could make the same argument about headbands, undershirts, compression sleeves and other things that, like the hair, weigh an altogether trivial amount.

If his hair is that heavy, then his neck muscles are naturally that much stronger too. Makes absolutely no difference.

I'll play the game...

What about when Jae is running fast, but then makes a hard cut, doesn't Newton's first law come into effect? If his dreads keep wanting to go one direction, but he now doesn't, that has to slow down his reaction time, right? Right?  ???

He just pre-loads the turn by pivoting his head in the right direction.  Then he harnesses the momentum of the dreads to make his cut effortless.

Taller hair helps obscure opponents line of sight, ditch the dreads and go 'fro.

Hey, it that's what we're going for, I'm thinking Marge Simpsonesque beehive. That thing would be impossible to shoot over.

I think it depends. I mean is he doing the Spartan thing where it has spiritual significance, or is he just doing the lazy thing? If it's lazy maybe it helps to cut it, or shave it, preferably with a straight edge ruler looking into a mirror at the bottom of a cup like Denzel Washington in the film Glory.

This is a joke, right? Kinda like all the times people said Olynyk needed to cut his hair.

It's either a joke or a really, really white thing to say.

Maybe he should get the same hair style as Sullinger and Smart.

It's actually well understood that Dreadlocks cause neck strain. They can negatively influence posture as well. Don't get me wrong - he's a great player even with the dreads. But I think they probably weigh closer to 10lbs. Wouldn't he be even better if he wasn't carrying all that weight on his head?
Do you have a source? An accredited, peer reviewed, research article perhaps?

I like lil bit of a Predator look on Jae.
It makes him unique.
