  • That's turrible
Looks like the only big thing we can hope for is to get a top 2 pick to add to the team. Chi Town wants to keep Butler (he's representing them at the lottery), Vlade doesn't want to trade DMC this year, and it looks like Durant will get OKC to the Conference Finals. This draft will be huge based on who we pick, not who we can possibly trade for or get in FA. IMO, I expect the big trades/FA moves NEXT year. Bigger free agent class...lots of guys playing on contract years.

That'd be kinda funny if DA made "The big moves" 10 years after the Ray Allen and KG trades.

This is why I find it funny that people get so mad about organizations not getting a superstar like it's their fault. The only promise that Wyc and Danny have been making is that they are trying to make fireworks. Unfortunately it takes two sides to make that happen. So while we have all of these assets at our disposal, is it really Ainge's fault if there is no one there that is interested in taking them? I'm sure we could make an intriguing offer for Butler or Cousins that a team would take IF they were wanting to trade those guys.

There is a possibility that there is some trade out there we don't see coming but as of now it looks like we're gonna take our draft pick and continue to develop.

I mean, Timberwolves weren't wanting to trade Love either. Let's just wait until after the lottery to be certain about anything, because many can be persuaded with the allure of a top-2 pick in this draft.
Recovering Joe Skeptic, but inching towards a relapse.

I'd love some real fireworks, but I'd be content if we found ourselves a youngish, solid defensive minded athletic center that could run the floor, protect the rim, and take care of the paint. Maybe a young guy with some remaining upside, we could further develop offensively.

I'm expecting the continued development of AB, Smart, Crowder and KO, if we could grab a few more guys that can shoot reliably, than this team will continue to make headway.

And last, if we could get a break in the draft, maybe top two or three pick, maybe we can draft a potential big name player.

I don't like excuses, but we had some bad breaks in the playoffs related to health. We have a team that struggles to score points in the half court when healthy, then loose two of it's best shooters. Granted we didn't have the bench to over come this.

With the draft picks we have and the available money, I'd be disappointed we didn't take at least the above steps forward. But again I too am hoping for some real fireworks.

Way too early to tell.  It also depends on what exactly construes "fireworks" which is completely subjective poster to poster on here.

Tuesday will be the first domino.

I'd also add in that it looks like Love will be staying in CLE for at least the next year. Lue has figured out how to use/coach him

Let's not forget all the fireworks related accidents and death every year!

Remember Brooklyn was celebrating fireworks back in the summer of 2013.

While I know we all hope for a glorious fireworks display, just remember sometimes no fireworks is better than fireworks.

Every GM who ever traded a player started the negotiations by saying that they didn't want to trade him. We know nothing about the likelihood that any of those players will be moved, except for the general tendency for players not to move!

  • Peace it's a board. We all will never agree.

Harden, Love, Howard, Bogut, Iggy, Paul, Carmelo, Goran Dragic and Rondo, but players don't move. The only thing constant is change and God's Love.  I feel something coming.

Sounds like Horford is staying in Atlanta.

Durant being poised to get OKC into the western conference finals might decide his fate.  If OKC gets by the Spurs, even if only to lose to Golden State, then that really justifies him giving it one more year in OKC.  I can easily see him signing a one year deal and test free agency the following year to see what they can do in the off season this year to get better.

Combine that with Cousins and Butler as mentioned in the OP above, and the list gets shorter.  We can sign two max stars...just starting to wonder who else qualifies and is worth it?

don't be surprised if it's mostly the same roster we bring back next year.

even if we land a big fish.

Anyone thinking there will be fireworks will be disappointed 99 times out of 100.

IIRC, the fireworks comment from Wyc was for the last off-season, not this one.

He learned his lesson and won't go out on a limb this time around.

So, we have cap room to sign two max contracts.  What if they sign them and get a top one or two player.  I bet Lebron would love to have Wiggins instead of Love.  So we sign a Barnes and Whiteside to big, but not max deals (Barnes will probably cost a pick or player).  At the same time, Simmons falls in our lap at one or two.

Yeah, then I woke up from my dream.......
