The Atlanta Hawks.

Geez people, two teams play the game.  Sometimes the other team is just better.  No amount of coaching or player moves would have made any difference in a 30 point game.

People just need to deal with it.

By almost 30 though? Cleary the C's didn't answer the bell. This will be very bad to see a blow out game 7 knowing C's botched the 3 seed. Home court just means so much for role players.

Exactly, Atlanta had a good game plan in IT and it worked. Atlanta started hitting all of their shots when Boston went on one of their famous offensive slumps they have been having in Atlanta

Didn't we need to beat Charlotte and Miami and have Atlanta lose to wrap up the 3 seed when it all came down to it?  I know we laid an egg against Charlotte (and half an egg against Miami), but surely people weren't thinking that was a guarantee down the stretch.

  • GOT IT!!!
I'm hoping for at least one game where the C's are hot. C's had a chance there in the 1st half to capitalize and stalled out enough for Atlanta to get going. Then it was over.

We played trash defense, left them open to take 3s. Didn't work around the Atlanta traps on IT. Brad and Isaiah have to find ways to get IT in it early.
I could very well see the Hawks... starting Taurean Prince at the 3, who is already better than Crowder, imo.

you vs. the guy she tells you not to worry about

Weak Effort leads to Weak Results...C's were on cruise control most of the game....Young Teams need to learn from this--you can't rely on Game 6 being at home.

As much as people hate Reggie Miller as a commentator, he hit that nail on the head when he said this. The C's lost their opportunity to take over this game in the first quarter when the Hawks couldn't get it together offensively.

However, it's not like the C's lack that killer instinct to step on their opponents throats and finish them off, they just lack that ability. The team as it is built is a 'grind-it-out' team. They can grind out those close games, and occasionally dig themselves out of holes. However, they lack the fire power to sustain leads for long periods of time, or build insurmountable leads.

Avery plays and Crowder is fit - no way Hawks score 42 in a quarter

I'm talking the last 10 games not last week.

Every time we lose some fans act like the sky is falling. We aren't going to win every game! This series is likely to go with home court, now we have one more chance to buck that trend. If we don't it just emphasises to our players the importance non home court. That will be a nice lesson to learn.

What's funny is that the Celtics will probably win the next game in Boston, then lose by 30 again in ATL.  They're a lovable, rag-tag group of misfit role players up against a veteran team with multiple All-Stars every year.  Coach Bud is almost as good as Stevens too and coach is usually the only big advantage we have.  I'm proud of them for getting this far and hopefully next year we can add Butler and Ben Simmons or something.

This game is a huge missed opportunity. We shot ourselves in the foot in the first half when we were up 10 and had multiple chances to go to the basket and definitely strangle Atlanta who was starting to doubt and take unconvinced shots because they felt the pressure mounting. Instead, IT tried hard to get a "big" 3 and Atlanta fought back to reverse the course of the game.

Plus, I know we bet on Bazemore, Scott and others to miss their shots and dared them to take 3's but at some point they were bound to hit some of them so the strategy wasn't going to last.

Too bad we took a blowout afterwards but let's see what the Celtics do at home.
