Good read about the respect he carries across the league and his ascent into coaching.

The way that he deals with players on this team is absolutely amazing. Honestly critical without publicly shaming.

Side note: the Rondo story just furthers backs my appreciation that he is no longer on the team.

Whenever there is a Brad article, I feel like it's automatically an article praising him :). I do not think I have yet to come across a very negative article about him. Very very likeable guy, humble and smart. #TrustBrad

Thanks TP good read
"We are lucky we have a very patient GM that isn't willing to settle for being good and coming close. He wants to win a championship and we have the potential to get there still with our roster and assets."

quoting 'Greg B' on RealGM after 2017 trade deadline.
Read that last line again. One more time.

Someone should keep a running list of NBA players who have gone out of their way to compliment Brad Stevens. Like, that's not normal.

Maybe hang that list next to a sign that reminds people that the Celtics don't ever sign star free agents.

Very very nice article.

I'm hoping that he can be a HUGE draw for upcoming free agents.

Some of you folks now understand which  type of players will "fit" under CBS and which won't

Especially draft picks.

Thit is why unless you are an exceptional /mature/have a strong mental makeup freshman, it won't be easy playing or getting much playing time under CBS

Thus I predict the Celtics will be more excited to bring in a guy like Sabonis vs another guy with higher upside but has ways to go

Seriously, imagine what an asset he'll be in meetings speaking to free agents.  I doubt we get Durant but it seems we'll at least get a meeting with him and that goes for other free agents as well.  I'm thinking the presentation will be strong and guys will walk out of there pretty impressed with what he has to say.

Actually, know, we don't. That article had exactly nothing in it that describes the type of player or person Stevens would prefer in his system. If anything, it shows Stevens is extremely adaptable to the types of players he has and the variation of personalities he can coach and still get positive results from.

You are simply transferring your own predilections and buases onto Stevens preferences to continue to propagate this story tgat you know what type of player Stevens prefers.

Read the article again

Why since CBS has become coach ainge brought in guys like crowder, jerebko, drafted Rozier (reach)

What quality do they share?   You think it's just a coincidence?

My favorite part of the article which shows how far ahead Brads thinks is this one about Isaiah Thomas:

At the tail end of a critical West Coast trip in April, the Celtics were clinging to a slim lead over the Golden State Warriors and needed two closeouts against Curry to seal the win. Stevens dropped that assignment in the lap of Thomas, who had been traded by Phoenix in part because he was such a defensive liability. The 5-foot-9 Thomas saddled up to the MVP, assumed his defensive stance and played the most inspired two minutes of his career.

Days later, in practice, with the team still basking in the afterglow of its win, Thomas failed to close out defensively in a drill. "Don't tell me you can't do it, Isaiah,'' Stevens chirps. "Because I saw you. We all did.''

"So now we got him,'' McCarty says, chuckling. "I.T. has to play that kind of defense the rest of the season.''
MJ made you look slow, Bird made you look stupid." -James Worthy
2025 Fantasy Draft Philadelphia 76ers:
PG: Rajon Rondo '11-'12;  WestBrook; Wall
SG: James Harden '18-'19 Marcus Smart
SF: Andrei Kirilenko '05-'06; Peja Stojakovic
PF: Anthony Davis '17-'18;   Kevin Love, Griffin
C: Amare Stoudemire '04-'05;   Marcus Camby

Which comes first: the chicken, or the egg?

If they wind up on a Celtics roster, does that mean they were "CBS" guys that Ainge targeted?

If guys like Courtney Lee, Joel Anthony, Jeff Green, Kris Humphries, Phil Pressy, and Gerald Wallace -- all former rotation players under Stevens for one season -- were not retained by the Celtics, does that mean all of them are really not "CBS" guys?

If Avery Bradley or Jae Crowder get traded for a superstar like Jimmy Butler, does that make those guys not "CBS" players, and Butler automatically one?
