I don't like this for the sport of basketball, it's a bummer. But then again, so was 1973 for the Celtics, right? Also, bummer that the all-time regular season and all the records set and the special superstars thwarted in the postseason, all nullified, hollowed out...like the Patriots about 8 years ago. Bleep happens to destinies. Inevitabilities are liable to get disabled by twists of fate.

This opens the playoffs to every team, including ours. I'd prefer to end the season on the shortlist of greatest upsets in sports history by beating the Warriors, but I'll settle for any championship. Atlanta is beatable. Cleveland is beatable. San Antonio is beatable. Golden State even with full health weren't completely unbeatable, as Ainge reminded us mid-season. Our ship might be coming in, arriving a little early,
Very very optimistic there. We arent out of round one.

yeah Hawks still have home court advantage.  We still are unlikely to win this series.

It would stink for our Durant pipe dream is this causes okc to win a title.

  • Peace it's a board. We all will never agree.
That's a real bummer. How much time is he likely to miss?
Hopefully it is not as bad. MRI is coming no official word. I hope he can play.

The Warriors can absolutely make the WCF without Curry.  By then he could be ready, if not sooner.

The Clips shouldn't scare anyone.

reminds me of 2009 with KG.  Hate when that happens.  I hope curry can get healthy.

I'm not worried about them honestly.

Klay - Iggy - Draymond is still such an awesome trio, and Livingston is actually quite capable.

Like I said ... the Clips shouldn't scare anyone.  If anything it means that the impact of the Clips' best or second best defender -- Paul -- is muted.

yeah I mean, you don't get to 73 wins by being a 1-player team, but if curry misses the rest of the playoffs I think it's super unlikely they knock off some of the other true contenders.

I know this isn't realistic, but it seems like if the Clippers win tonight it may be in Warriors best interest to not win tomorrow. Obviously no team will take for granted that they can just beat another playoff team when they need to. However, having this series go 6 games instead of 5 would seem to get them 2-3 days of extra rest for Curry. That could make a big difference for them later int the playoffs.

I agree that they have no shot against SAS if Curry stays out.

OKC is dangerous as well.

Wonder is Barnes will get added minutes. It's going to be a tough road without Curry. Can't ask Thompson, Green, and Igg to do make up that gap alone.

That's a real bummer. How much time is he likely to miss?

Guys usually seem to miss about 3 weeks, although it depends on the severity.

3 weeks, so it's roughly 6 days for 3 games for a series, assuming it's every other day for a game. So if his team can hold up and each series stretches out for 7 games, you think he'll be back in time for the conference finals or finals?

kinda sucks to break the Bulls record and not bring home the chip

I don't know about that.  I think Klay and Draymond are overrated players because they do all of their damage with Curry out there. (Very good players, but not the 'stars' that everybody makes them out to be). If teams don't have to worry about Curry, it's a MUCH different story.  It's like how bad the Bulls became when MJ took a year off to play baseball.  I'd definitely pick the Clippers over the Warriors without Curry.

Calling it --- Dray will average a triple double while Curry is out.
