how was this not called a foul? He almost killed IT .

Then pushed sully into Smart when he was in the air .

If sully wants to help at all, he needs to lay out Horford

This doesn't even register for me. We could fill a forum with videos of our Celtics doing worse.

But sure, I wouldn't object to Sully playing chippy with Al.

  • Sometimes there's no sane reason for optimism
I thought it was pretty great when Crowder(?) pushed Horford on to the floor and into the stands after a missed rebound and there was no call. It's almost like the refs knew it was the Hawks ball anyway and that Horford probably deserved a little of his own medicine.

Yeah.. that was a foul, but it only looked bad because IT is half of Horford's size. Not a good basketball play, but a basketball play.

I really don't remember much of Horford in this game.

His photo's going to end up on milk cartons in Boston.
Coined the CelticsBlog term, "Euromistake."

Pushing Sully into Smart while he was in the air was bush league.

League should address that one, not at all a basketball play.

That was the one that bothered me.  Could have injured both players.  The IT play should have been a foul (how could the refs miss that!) but was nothing egregious.

No, he got called for another push a bit later.  That play was just a side out for the Hawks.

Do we have any vid of Horford shoving Sully on Smart? I have been looking for 15 min, and apart from the brief mention below, I found nothing.

I know that playoffs series are full with dirty plays, and the C's have their fair share.

Still, I'm surprised this generated zero media attention: it was not a legitimate bball play and it could easily result in injury (iirc Sully was limping afterwards).

Quote
A Jared Sullinger and Smart collision via an Al Horford shove would send Sullinger limping off the court and Smart to the free throw line

At least Sully could lay some weight on Horford .....lean on him like Perk ......box him out .....anything.

Right now Sully is not worth nothing

Funny is rarely works that way in this series, they have been taking whomever he is guarding on the perimeter, and break him down off the dribble for an easy hoop.   None of the letting him rest and lean on guys in the low post.   They are making him work, and he is not measuring up the task.
