I have seen the light and it is Jonas Jerebko. Is there any doubt he our Game 2 Starter at PF?

Does this give us hope to win our series with the Hawks?

All Joking aside, if we don't re sign JJ we look pretty dumb here. The guy has proven his value. Even if deep on the bench, the guy is ready to play.

He is signed. But it's not guaranteed so C's can let him go. He has out played all the current pfs so yeah let him start.

In CLE, and he's been playing rather well.

But seriously JJ should get more playing time based off of his performance in game 3.

Why would you not start him after last game. That would be plain dumb

Yeah, you are right. I meant do we keep him? definitely for me. He is so versatile and  I think he will only get better. Not saying All Star, but rotation caliber big especially in small ball lineups. I was particularly impressed with his Team Defense.

Definitely a no brainer

Sully has earned little more than a bus ticket out of town this series.

I think you have to go with JJ.  He raised our energy levels and he plays D, something I can't say for our rotund number 7.  He cares it seems something that Jared might want to start doing.

  • Sometimes there's no sane reason for optimism
I disagree with the concept that Sully doesn't care. In only 20 MPG last year against Cleveland, he averaged 12.3 PPG and 7 RPG on 55% shooting coming off of a lengthy injury. I am as frustrated with Sully as anybody - I don't really understand how people in general can let themselves get so out of shape, never mind a professional athlete who stands to lose tens of millions of dollars by not doing everything he can to stay in optimal condition. But there is clearly a bigger issue here.

As for JJ, he has been doing awesome and he is exactly the kind of player we need out there against Millsap. If we can't sign two max contract players this offseason, I would be happy to see him and Amir back next year.

who else could CBS start really? jj can shoot 3 pointers well, so he starts.

unless the celtics can stretch the floor and stop the hawks from packing it in under the basket, they lose this game. jj's early shooting helped open up the floor and that was crucial. his defense was not all that good on switches, but it was worth it since the celtics needed offense more than defense.

my concern is that while i like jj as a player and his effort, when all is said and done he is not really starter material in the nba. he is an effective bench player. now he is being called upon to start in the playoffs.

can he keep up his offense and shooting under this pressure? that is the big question for me.

I realize that I may be ahead of myself a bit, but he probably matches up with Kevin Love the best of any big we have currently on the roster. If we do make it to a match up with the Cavaliers, this is a lineup we will need to continue using IMO.

For this series Jonas should start. However, we will need big minutes from Sully if we continue on in the playoffs. He is our only legit rebounder.

It appears Sully doesnt rebound so well in a running game. He does OK in the half court.

The reason I think Jerebko will stay in the starting lineup is his mobility and perimeter defense. I guess I should point out that he has rebounded in double figures both the games he started against the Hawks.

JJ just has a much higher energy level than Sully at least in this post season.

Regardless of whatever Sully did in the past for us, Jonas Jerebko has taken his starting job. I dont think Sully is capable of taking it back this season. He has gotten too far out of shape. I truly hope he loses weight and gets in better shape next year before camp.

Can't really spread the floor as well as JJ.   Also, has poor D, and has a history of not rotating on D.

Hopefully, he is camp with another team, not us.  Why would you want a guy who is not professional enough to keep in shape during the season?   Makes no sense, on any level.

I do not like Sully. BUT...I understand this is probably the worst match up he could face. Should the C's advance to the next round, they are going to need Sullinger to matchup wiith CLE.
