I was in a bar watching the second half so I didn't have sound.  The guy sitting next to me was sounding just like the poster who started this thread.  Then bang, Marcus in all his wildness and chaoticness, just started to take over.  Is there anything he didn't do?

Hit big buckets, check.

Show patience and make some great passes, check.

Rip down some big rebounds, check.

Then, I finally realized that he was covering Milsap who had scored 45 points.  Not just on a switch but by design.

Wow, that was a legendary game by him.  Right up there with some of Rondo's best.

Smart is inconsistent in terms of scoring but as I have said before many times, I remain very high on Marcus Smart.

I wish we could trade him right now

I hope you just keep posting this every good game he puts up over his Celtics career as he keeps improving.  Will be good for a laugh.

This. TP
I could very well see the Hawks... starting Taurean Prince at the 3, who is already better than Crowder, imo.

you vs. the guy she tells you not to worry about

There are only a handful of players in the NBA who can win a playoff game. Smart is now one.

More comical to think that shooting is not an issue for him.  He has a good game tonight.

Who in the world can't spell no, even if it is slang of some sort, why make a word longer.  Maybe you should keep your eyes open when you type instead of rolling them.  If your trying to be witty, I suggest you try harder.

People on the trade Marcus wagon irk me. They watch one end of the floor, because defense isn't flashy. It's grit. It's dirt. It's grind. It's positioning your body to outwit screens and keeping a lid on Korver in the first half. Its buckling down and muscling up against an out of the box Millsap down on the block and holding him to 1 for 5, when he was literally destroying all other Celtics. Its nailing a 3 on the offensive end, hustling back to get a block, starting transition... and knocking down ANOTHER 3 to bring your team back into it. I was at the game last night. This kid is magic in bottle, and his lid is starting to blow. He is too strong, too fierce a competitor to lose. Haters, I challenge you to name 5 players in the NBA not named Marcus Smart that can defend 4 positions at a high level...

He can't "defend four positions at a high level". He can defend Paul Millsap. For a 10 minute stretch. Try putting him on LaMarcus Aldridge or Dirk Nowitzki and see how that's going to work out.

Speaking of dads are any of you Marcus' dad? It's ok son. You can shoot at historically horrid levels and I'll still love you?  You can get hurt every year and not really improve and it's ok as long as you try your hardest.

Anyone?

I think you better watch the game again, focus on the good things Smart did to win this game and then call Marcus Smart your daddy.

Even the most fervent anti Marcus Smart poster still enjoyed watching him play last night right?

I worry that some of you are so concerned with being right about Smart, that they can't even enjoy watching him succeed.

DKC:  Rockets
CB Draft: Memphis Grizz
Players: Klay Thompson, Jabari Parker, Aaron Gordon
Next 3 picks: 4.14, 4.15, 4.19

Just don't let the haters get to you.  Ainge and Stevens both love the kid, and he's not going anywhere but for a true superstar.  Two years ago Ainge could hardly contain his excitement for Smart a month before the draft.  Stevens has been heaping praise on Smart since his fourth NBA game.

No one is untradeable, but Ainge would have to be blown away to move him.  And Ainge and Stevens are the opinions that matter.

No mocking / attacking other posters.

Best quote of the day.  If only SB Nation would display this in the Post reply ribbon/banner.

Remember who the real enemy is:  the Lakers, the refs, the long reach of Howard Stern . . .
