The win got me thinking about how BS does get guys to play their best effort here. So maybe instead of going for a superstar which is almost impossible to trade for why not a package of guys. What if even if they get a top 2 pick the team settles for near All-star guys?
Trade Ingram/Simmons, 23rd pick, Hunter, AJ and Rozier to Jazz.
Get Hayward and Favors.
I know we want superstars but that trade makes the roster very good.
Starters: IT, AB, Hayward, JJ, Favors
Bench: Smart, Young, Crowder, Mickey, KO
Without losing your core these are tremendous players to add. A top two in the east probably with just that group.
Now that isn't a championship team but the salary of that roster is just 64 million. The cap will be 90 million. Leaving team enough to sign or absorb a max player. You also still have plenty of picks to trade as well. Yet I feel that team is absolutely enough to get KD on board at PF already. And with KD in DA can call in a vet guard and big to sign for vet mins. Maybe Stat and Thornton?
IT/Smart
AB/Thornton/Young
Hayward/Crowder
KD/JJ/Mickey
Favors/KO/Stat
So what do you guys think about using assets even if a top 2 pick to secure Hayward and Favors? It may get you KD but even if it doesn't you are a top east team that didn't lose any of its core.
