  • Sometimes there's no sane reason for optimism
I'm shocked at how many people believe IT should've got a suspension for this.
Think about how many players have gotten away with so much worse.
Just because contact is deliberate doesn't mean it's violent or with intent to physically harm.

IT literally turned his body sideways and stuck his arm out while doing so. He didn't swing or punch or put any reasonable force with intent to harm Schroeder-he was screwing with him and trying to p--- him off.

Nothing to see here IMO.

Seriously, I was ready to lead the 'shocked' fan club if he had been suspended for this. Gray area is a thing and especially relevant in this case. The fact that there was also zero escalation from either side also makes a difference...

Everyone needs to calm down and please do not listen to Stu Jackson, former Executive V-P of the NBA. His comments of last night demonstrated to me his bias and lack of objectivity in such matters! Stu did not yet have all the facts and yet had already condemned Isaiah to a suspension.
A review of the facts demonstrate that Isaiah had his arm stretched to point to Jerebko, who was inbounding the ball, not to pass the ball to him because he was guarded but to the player to Isaiah's left. It was at this moment that Schroeder got into Isaiah's air space withe arm already stretched out. As Schroeder was moving really closely towards Isaiah, Isaiah started pulling his arm back to his body and his arm had the affect of slapping Schroeder's head on the side. It was not intentional nor was it a direct straight on blow to the head.

What Stu Jackson said last night was nothing like what I just described. Stu has too admt he was wrong. He is a flawed man whose  incompetance is based on poor judgement and lack of objectivity! I believe in the 2013 playoffs, Stu was still the Executive V-P when Dwyane Wade blatantly gave Lance Stephansen a hard flying hit with his arm to the head of Lanc. The game had to be stopped because Lance was disoriented! ( https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=BBVK0CDo8O0 ).  The result of that assault was only a flagrant 1....enough said!!! The Wade hit was 10 times worse than what happened yesterday! Stu and the NBA in general , in the past had their obvious biases. Let's see today if this zebra has changed its stripes?

i bet your house is green, and your entire wardrobe.

I love the Celtics, but What I get irritated from is fans who are denial. This goes for pretty much all the fans that do that. Its a powerful thing that equates into every facet of life and one of the biggest reasons why people don't get along.

Im sure you would have said the same thing if Shcroeder had done that to IT instead.

Right call not suspending. IT was clearly signaling towards Smart and that's why his arm was outstretched. He was pointing. It's also clear, to me, that Schroder was intentionally running to bump into IT.

Did IT swing his arm around knowing he was going to make contact with Schroder? Yeah, probably. The guy was right in front of him. But given Schroder's role as instigator and the fact that IT didn't raise his arm to hit anyone, I think that's the right call.

And thank goodness. Now the C's better not waste it.

Lol yea signaling was fine but then taking the swipe. You have to be in denial to not admit that.

Yeah, there was a swipe. It was more chippy than dangerous, which is why I didn't think it was clear cut.

I agree to a point. Any blow to the head has "potential" for danger, you just dont do that , its stupid.

You know though, you know for sure, if this was the other way around, everyone here would want Shroeder suspended, and i bet for more than 1 game. I dont even have to doubt that , I know.
