IT did this on purpose.  Schroder is a little punk for coming up in his face/trash talking most of the night

Schroder got his revenge with a flagrant on IT (thought IT got the last laugh on this one)

Both players to keep playing hard/trash talking. I doubt this "slapping" incident happens again.

IT would be foolish to attempt

I was worried there for a second. Suspension or not, IT needs to keep his cool in the playoffs. Last night he was playing with fire with that hit (Even if I thought Schroder sold it) and we can't afford to lose him.

Right call not suspending. IT was clearly signaling towards Smart and that's why his arm was outstretched. He was pointing. It's also clear, to me, that Schroder was intentionally running to bump into IT.

Did IT swing his arm around knowing he was going to make contact with Schroder? Yeah, probably. The guy was right in front of him. But given Schroder's role as instigator and the fact that IT didn't raise his arm to hit anyone, I think that's the right call.

And thank goodness. Now the C's better not waste it.

Good call by the league, but does Brad need to have a talk about Schroder? I thought we knew by now he's a trash talker. Rozier threw a ball at him in the second game. You can't do dumb stuff like that. Teague is the one who might actually hurt you.

Looked like it was a bit of BAIT by Schroder ......like I ll get in IT s space ....rub by him too close ....

Invite a little action ......and I think Thomas sensed the tension and responded to Schroders CLOSE fly by with the arm thrown out .  I also thought the movement of Schoroders head seemed a bit over the top .....played up like Smart or LeBron does ......the head snap, back flop action. Too Hollywood.

I think it was a NO call .   This did not even register as a foul in Larry Birds day.

so no punishment on IT whatsoever? while Smart gets a 5k fine...in my honest opinion we dodged a HUGE bullet.

Hope both IT and Smart learns from this

IT - contain your anger, let your game do the talking, do less of that
Smart - flop less please

I think the suspensions have loosened up a bit under Silver.

No doubt in my mind that would have been a suspension under Stern.

No he got a Flagrant 1, which at minimum is a small fine and eventually would lead to a suspension after enough of em.

I think this is a much better explanation than the torrent of "why this but not that" kinds of argument.  Silver (well, his disciplinary people) may be using the in-between measures of Flagrants and Techs instead of outright suspension more often.

It really wasn't much of a slap.  The NBA made an appropriate decision.

I just rewatched Smart's flop.  Wow it's worse than I remember. I think that he should go into professional wrestling.
