I hope not. I don't think he should be. I think he will be.

he won't

If IT got suspended, they'd have to suspend Durant for his unquestionably intentional and much more forceful elbow wouldn't they?  I don't hear any talk about Durant getting suspended.

I think what saves IT is that he didn't have a closed fist and it wasn't a punch.  I think a fine would be appropriate.  JR Smith got two games for a spinning back fist that knocked a guy out, injured his knee, and had multiple offenses prior.  And IT getting a game for a push slap that didn't have any chance of actually hurting someone, wasn't all that forceful, and its intention is debatable, seems a bit unfair.

punk move from IT imo.

I could see it going either way, but if you put a gun to my head i would bet on him being heavily fined but not suspended.

I think will be suspended, and just for jokes the Celtics are docked a draft pick and fined $1M because Boston sports teams.  ::) ::) ::)

Saw this which is somewhat relevant.

Exactly. Stuff like this and Draymond Green getting away with literally throwing people would make the league look pretty [dang] bad if they suspend IT for that. Then again, its the NBA. They're already a mess as is.

Edit: Here we go https://twitter.com/BrettEP?ref_src=twsrc%5Egoogle%7Ctwcamp%5Eserp%7Ctwgr%5Eauthor

Draymond Green is such a disgusting guy, I seriously have no idea how people respect him.

He is a dirty pig of a player who yells and cries after any and every call that goes against him - anybody else does that stuff and they get chastised, Green does it and nobody looks twice.

Yeah I get he plays hard and that he has talent and all the rest - but as far as I'm concerned Draymond Green has all the class of Ron Artest.

The NBA is a joke.
Crowder gets knocked into the seats, no flagrant.
IT slaps a German, suspension.

I think they fine him because IT makes a narrative and good T.V. For fans to watch and if they did suspend him they'd be losing out on money. For that reason alone I doubt it.

Not acceptable.  Schroeder is an NBA player, no need for the German comment.

IT slapped a player. Hard to argue anything else.  In today's NBA, based upon the rules, it warrants a suspension.  However, as I said. I wouldn't be surprised if the NBA waited until late Sunday to make the decision and then pushed it off for game 5.  That way, the Celtics have a chance to extend the series. IT sits a potential Game 5 loss. And the Celtics have to win or lose it on the court.  You can't b slap a player any more than you can Parrish-to-Laimbeer 'em.
Ah I miss the Chief.

IT sits a game. I'm willing to wager on this.

Teague did something similar a few weeks back and avoided punishment so we will see.  It will be an incredible double standard if they suspend IT.

Again, unless you are Perk - in which case you can throw a player down and then smash him in the head (over the top of an official who is trying to break the situation up).

I seriously must be missing something here. I see a half-hearted, open hand push to the head on Schroder as Isaiah is turning and going up the court. It was very likely on purpose, but it was like a 1.5/10 on the severity meter. There was literally zero escalation. Add in the fact that it is coming from the smallest player in the league (not a beast like Perk) and you see that context should matter.

After the Draymond debacle, there is no way the league should suspend IT. This is only something so that sensationalist media members have something to make a big deal about.

TP - that is the best comparative video I've seen so far and ironically it was a member of Atlanta. Again, not a punch, but he was clearly aiming for the face in a less than aggressive manner.

Today's NBA rules also should have ensured Teague got a flagrant for his foul on Crowder - a hard hit above the shoulders while a player is in the air.  That's a no brainer.

Also should have ensured Horford got called for a fall after hitting Jerebko in three places (hand, head and back) while he was mid-air on that dunk attempt.

Teague even arguably showed more intent than IT. Though I do 100% believe that IT meant to hit Schroeder, he at least left some room for interpration.

FWIW When I was driving last night listening to national radio I was expecting to hear about Isaiah's potential suspension but the reports were focused more on his incredible performance. Isaiah has a ton of respect amongst the NBA fan base, hopefully it will be enough to save him this time.

Sounds like he will.  Bummer.

There's the excuse for when the Celts lose in 5.  AB's injury, IT suspended for game 4, this series means nothing.   ;D

Well, upon further review, it seems intentional to me, though it's definitely not a punch. It looks like IT was genuinely signaling something to one of his teammates but then Schroder's head happened to suddenly be in the immediate neighborhood, so IT took advantage and tried to get in a little cheap shot. I don't think it warrants a suspension, and I certainly hope he's not suspended, but I think he will be. And I think that if that happens, the series is pretty much over.
