Even in game 2, he was the only one that showed up . He has been doing work down low on offense , and providing rim protection on D. He has been the most surprising performer so far for the C's
He seems like a big game player to me , would be great to put him next to someone like Horford or Cousins who can stretch the floor on offense, letting Amir work down low at times .

Sully down to 11 mins. Other than against someone like Bogut , Sully is to slow and out of shape to really match up in high energy playoff pressure games .

Is Amir a player option or team option next year?

agree 100%. would also give some of his minute to mickey, the kid can do everything sully does (which is not much right now), and better.

sully has been a turnstile on defense, and his offense has been nonexistent.

time for a change.

btw, it's a $12M team option for amir next season. either a nice trade asset or a solid deal (considering the new salary cap) if we decide to keep him

I'd rather keep neither.
We have free agent money and eight draft picks.

Let's not forget that Amir was less than stellar in the regular season.  I like his play as of late as well, but I'm not sure that sample is why we move in from Sully.

Having said that, I agree that it may be time to part with Sully, so I think we should shoot for a sign-and-trade, or attach him to a potential draft day trade.
Truuuuuuuuuth!

Amir is on a non-guaranteed contract next year that guarantees on the 3rd or 4th of July.  So Ainge will have a couple of days in free agency to see what his chances look like with other players before making a decision on Amir.

He's playing so much better than our other bigs right now.  That $12 million seems like a bargain.

That's because he never got any opportunities.  Not sure if it's because of his foot problems or just coaches decision, but he got nowhere near enough minutes in the regular season.

His Per 36 minute stats are actually very nice - 11.5 points, 10.1 rebounds (3.6 offensive), 2.8 assists, 1 steal, 1.7 blocks along with 58% FG.

When Amir is on the court, we almost always play better.  He is by far our interior defender, and he actually doesn't give up that much to Sully in terms of rebounding either.

Love Brad Stevens as a coach overall, but I absolutely cannot understand why he's always insisted on giving minutes to Sully over Amir.  I give Brad the benefit of the doubt and just assume it's because of Amir's Plantar Fasciitis limiting him from playing major minutes.

The way they are going in the playoffs so far, Rozier is looking more like an NBA player then Sully is.  Pretty concerning.

Jerebko and Amir have both been pretty consistently better then Sully during this playoff run, and Olynyk has (IMHO) probably been better then Sully all year long.

During game two Sully looked so bad that I was BEGGING Brad to him out and replace him with Zeller or Mickey.  That's pretty bad.

Don't hate Sully, but his limitations are glaring against this Hawks team.

I have been a huge Amir fan all year. I know a lot of us got him at times during the season due to some lackluster play, but maybe it really was his plantar fasciitis. He is an old 28, but should be able to give several more years of hard, smart play. Also, it is great that he doesn't demand the ball and can play both PF and C.

He fits in REALLY well with this current group, too.

Amir would be a terrific bench player next season. Hopefully, we don't have to rely on him as a starting center. I'd love to keep him as a bench player.

I cannot wait until Sullinger is gone. I don't get how a professional basketball player can be sooooo fat. It's comical watching him matchup with Millsap sometimes as it looks like he is in slow motion as Millsap blows by him.

We can live without Sully .   He has his moments ....Amir is more reliable for all around game.

Amir is only only tall decent big we got . Who can defend at all inside.

Amir is necessary unless DA signs better.

Sully was pouting something fierce, he looked like he really didn't want to be interviewed. The move to bench him can't go well for his impending free agency. I think we've seen the last of Sully in a Celtic uniform after the playoffs. He's just too inconsistent mostly due to conditioning. He needs to be honest with himself, and loose the 25 pounds. That would allow him to give quality extended minutes in an up pace game.

Amir had kind of an up and down season too, although I think his was due to playing while injured. He's a nice big to have around when he plays with passion, he'd make a good big off the bench. It all depends how free agency and the draft set up.

He's far and away our best frontcourt player right now, and I'd say he's been our 2nd best and 1st most consistent player this series. Last night he was 7-8, 7 rebs, 2 blks.  With Sully's struggles, we  need Amir to play 30+ mins every night if we want to win this series.

Not a huge surprise.

Sully has come across as a spoiled brat of a kid since his second season in the league.  As soon as KG, Pierce and Rondo dissapeared, it seems his cockiness level just went through the roof.
