I think a lot of Boston's appeal to Durant will depend on other moves.
He's not going to come here as the only significant addition to the roster besides the rookies in the draft. He's going to want a veteran core around him, and we are short of what I suspect he's looking for.
I disagree. To me it's not about having a veteran core. The appeal of our team is our youth and discipline. We've got young, hungry , gym rat kinda guys that are willing to work their butts off and play defense for 48 minutes a game, which makes your life so much easier as an offensive juggernaught trying to conserve energy. As a top 3 player in the NBA, he doesn't have to wait for the perfect situation. If he decides to go somewhere- Boston in this case- he'll have a swarm of top 20 guys all wanting to join him here and that's when we add the perfect veteran support.
Any half intelligent NBA player will see Durant, IT, the role player defenders and the genius coach and come running our way and we'd have a legimate contender within 2 years if not this offseason.
