Harden and Durant in Boston

 After watching E 60, Harden is still upset and wondering what could have been in OKC four years after the big trade. They offered him 6 million below the Max and gave him one day to make the decision.
 He felt he needed more time for the biggest contract of his life. Pressi called him that same night and traded him to Houston. That's bad business IMO.
 
 Fast forward to now. I purpose we trade for Harden and sign Durant, and with some luck maybe Westbrook wants to join next year, if not him someone else would be drawn here.

 It would be great to keep two of three players out of Bradley, Crowder, Smart, but not a deal breaker.

 Thomas, Bradley, Olynyk 2016 Nets pick, 2018 Nets pick, 2016 Dallas pick, 2016 Philly pick for Harden and then Durant happily signs here. That's quite the Haul.

 I hate Hardens defense as much as anyone here, but after watching the first Two playoff games and retaining Smart and Crowder while adding two of the top scorers in the league does anyone really object to this scenario?

 Great mix of offense and defense. Smart and Harden is a perfect pairing. Hardens handles and passing helps Smart's deficiency's.
 While Smart's Defensive intangibles makes up for Hardens matador defense.

I don't like the line up at all. we are getting rid of AB and IT which will give us crazy weakness in the guard position. Smart starting? I couldn't give you any bigger NO on that. I just don't see this lineup going anywhere, tbh I see us being about the same as we was this year.

I don't want Harden at all.  He is a terrible defender, has problems with teammates, and lacks effort a lot.  I just don't see the point in acquiring him to play 2nd fiddle to someone else and don't really see the Harden/Durant duo as working out long term.

I tend to agree, Harden does not seem to fit the Celtics mold. (hard working, team first, play D...)

 Lol, Are you guys serious? Any player that would bring in Durant is cool with me. That team is ten times better than what your watching right now.
 And Harden turns it over a lot but he's the point guard not Smart.

 James Harden was the second best player in the NBA last year if he becomes available Danny's knocking down the door. He already tried to get him in the Perkins trade, he's much better now.

I am not that crazy about that lineup. Obviously Durant and Harden bring a lot. Smart still isn't the player he needs to be to start in a championship side, I would much prefer AB. Amir needs to be second team if he is still in Boston next season. Rather than chase Harden I would prefer a quality big man, or along with Harden. I don't see that lineup being enough to attract Durant if AB and IT are gone. Crowder has played well but his appeal to a free agent isn't going to be huge alongside Amir and Smart.

I really hope we get Durant but I doubt this is the way to do it.

Not a fan of harden and his lack of effort. Still, this team needs an upgrade in talent and Harden can still play at the level of an MVP candidate.

I'd be happy to land Durant somehow someway though.

Harden tries about every 3rd game.  He is a clear upgrade in talent, but he has issues with teammates and just doesn't care far too often.  He disappears down the stretch.

If signing Harden meant Durant and not signing Harden meant no Durant, then sure you sign Harden, but in a vacuum I wouldn't want Harden to pair with Durant.  It is a bad fit and Boston would be better off signing other players to play with Durant.

Does getting Harden mean anything to Durant? I mean, were they good friends when they were on the same team? I don't remember Durant crying when he was traded.

Give Houston 16 pick, Dallas pick, Bradley, Crowder, 17 swap for Harden. I don't think Danny is giving up the 18 pick in that trade. Isaiah can be traded to Chicago along with the 18 pick, Memphis 19 pick for Butler. Sign Horford and DeMar DeRozan in Free Agency. While Durrant holds to OKC for a year n show what could be in 2017.
