As far as I'm concerned, the Celtics are still in the exact same place they were in before the series began. They have to win their home games and steal one in Atlanta. If they play together and to their potential, they can still win this series and I think we're going to see a big turnaround in Boston on Friday.

I agree, I don't get the hysteria. It was always going to be a close series and this is why we wanted home court so much. We'll find out after Game 3

I completely agree. Game 2 was nasty. Team was confused, out of place and at times it just looks like our offense isn't working no matter what. Some shots that normally goes in, doesn't. Like a few IT layups that he makes on a regular basis wasn't falling. Rookies first playoff experience, like Terry Rozier letting Schroeder get in his head. A lot of "rookie" mistakes like 24 second violation.

Yesterday's team really missed AB and KO. They did not look like the team we all rooted for in the regular season. Danny was right that we can get the game taken from us at times. ATL did exactly that yesterday. I still believe in my Celtics though. Stevens need to have like a meeting with all the players and figure something out.

They CAN get it done, but not if we keep making the same mental and effort lapses we saw during the regular season.  They looked completely unprepared for the Hawks intensity in game 2.

Series is over..Hawks in 5 if not 4..

Not sure what you watched last night that made you believe we have a shot? Maybe it was for that brief moment we cut the lead down to 13? SMH

When you can't hit layups you aren't going to win a game, let alone a series.

But TP for the OP.. Love the thought, I just think it's wrong.

Tp for the optimism. Even in the optimism thread is filled with negativity at this point.

Honestly, before the series started I expect us to lose the first two games and win the second two. I still believe this can happen but obviously things need to change to get a good outcome.

I could easily see Crowder/Isaiah have great games at home after a couple days of treatment on their injuries. I also wouldn't be surprised if Olynyk came back and made a difference before things are all said and done.

I'm obviously a homer, but I felt we got fouled a lot when we got into the paint. I wouldn't be surprised if the C's started getting those foul calls when the crowd is rocking in Boston.

Although it doesn't seem like it now, there is a path to the C's getting back in this series.

What keeps me optimistic is that I don't think the Hawks played any kind of unbeatable basketball these two games. Both losses felt like they were more about the Celtics playing below their standards, which means that it's something fixable. They might still not fix the problems, but the fact that it's in the team's control to play better bodes well for these home games.

Some people are acting like the first game wasn't a 1 point game.  It hasn't been two bad losses like game 2 was.  I think it will be really hard with our injuries though.

The Hawks did not play unbeatable basketball, bur they have figured out how to stop IT, who is now our only offensive weapon.

Only way to win is 2 or 3 guys to get hot shooting the 3s. possible for a game or two.

Guys getting hot from 3 would be great but its not the only option. The Celtics can win by getting everyone moving off the ball and by getting more points in transition. The Hawks' defense can't clog up the lane if the Celtics are scoring points on the break and they do that by playing top level defense from tipoff and causing turnovers.

so, you are positing that the celtics will continue to miss lay ups for the rest of the series?

Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.

Well done to those keeping the faith in this thread. As we all said it goes with home court. Now we've taken care of business and it's 2-2 we just need to figure out a way to win on the road. Hopefully the hysteria will have died down now and people can get back behind this team

Huge win tonight in overtime. For some reason it's incredibly hard to win in Atlanta but after gutting out the game tonight, I feel like the Celtics have tied the series without playing their best ball yet.
