I think the Celtics can steal a game if Smart takes zero shots..

Oh please. Who do those shots go to? Crowder? Isaiah? Sully? Just stop. No one was making shots today. Or Game 1

Crowders shots were fine.. he took high percentage looks and just missed ... Smart drives to the lane and throws it in the **** stands or takes a three where he has a career 20% average from..

Smart drives and gets fouled but never gets a call. If he got the calls he deserved you wouldn't be saying any of this.
I could very well see the Hawks... starting Taurean Prince at the 3, who is already better than Crowder, imo.

you vs. the guy she tells you not to worry about

Get out of here he wasnt fouled.. he drives erratically and tries to get fouled but instead throws up haymakers .. Only reason he should be on the floor is for defensive hustle..

Lol. Not likely gonna be a popular opinion here.

Problem is that he has a reputation as a flopper already.  Combine that with terrible shooting percentage, and it's hard to expect refs to give him the benefit of doubt.

Well his shooting percentage is partly a result of not getting calls at the rim.

Smart is not very good at the rim.

I was watching the game with some of my non Celtic buddies and they were pretty unanimous that Smart is garbage.

Of course they don't watch him every game and see how special he is on defense but it's pretty tough listening to buddies that you know are NBA junkies who completely rip into one of your favorite players.

I still think Smart can improve on offense but those attempts at the rim are pretty bad.

Idk what teams your friends support, but try watching Celtics games with lakers fans. Ugh it's terrible. They don't care about defense, so all they do is point to a smart missed shot and then say "bust, Clarkson is better".

It gets me so mad

A Knicks fan, a Suns fan and a Bulls fan.

The bulls fan laughed at a trade of Smart and the fourth pick for Butler.

Whatever. I'm thinking Smart will still get better so maybe I'll have the last laugh.

Agreed. Despite his struggles, I have a feeling about smart that I don't normally have with prospects. Maybe it's his high draft position, but I just feel unusually optimistic that, beneath these struggles, is a good offensive player who will get better over time.

I had this strange optimistic feeling right before the golden state game where we won. I hope I'm right again. An efficient and productive smart would really be a top player in the NBA.

Before the series began, I said there'd be a game when the Celtics got blown out because they couldn't throw a basketball into a swimming pool.  That was this game.  I also said there'd be a game when the Celtics forced a ton of turnovers and got a lot of easy baskets in transition, blowing out Atlanta.  I still think that game will come.  I felt the rest of the series would be close, and that we'd pull it out.  I still think that's possible.

Dude, for the sake of the Celtics future, I hope you are right. TP

Maybe I am mistaking you for another poster here, but you seem to get predictions and stuff right a lot. Am I correct in saying this?

He's a top athlete. Just not the typical basketball high flying athlete.

I'm having a hard time refuting this.

He makes Rubio look like a quality scoring option.
