the celts have to shoot better and play gritty-korver and millsap were contained and horford is skilled but not a brute-
so maybe zeller will get a run
zeller also can hit the 15-18 footer
with a couple days rest for sully and amir
the way the celts play as an underdog, this may be a trap game for atlanta
little tiny butler-brad is used to this

I really hope so. A good showing can only help recruiting. We've definitely got a case of bad luck with Bradley. But as big as that is if we want to hold on to the Durant dream possibility we need results regardless. I don't think it looks great that we could be relying on a rookie or two who got hardly any run until the playoffs. They could have used some more preparation.
I think Stevens is very good but I think it's a valid criticism to say we should know more about a few guys than riding players who likely won't be here next year, or shouldn't be. But again, that's just my opinion.

I like your thinking on this one!!!  right after the game was over I was thinking it looked to me like the C's were gathering data on where to hurt this team like an army scouting mission. I think it will be six games but it could be as little as five. Atlanta has shown them what they wanted to see and I believe shooting % and stamina are the keys.

But Tommy and IT ruined it...by giving the Hawks bulletin board material.   :-[

The Mavs' gutsy win against OKC gave me even more hope we could come back in this series. Especially after they way they got destroyed in Game 1.

Only if we win tonight though, otherwise I think we can expect a sweep.

  • Sometimes there's no sane reason for optimism

Just because guys are free agents doesn't mean they will definitely not be here next year. Otherwise you have someone like Lee who was completely removed from the rotation and Zeller who was relegated to 3rd string center. I would have also liked to see a few more non-garbage time minutes out of the rookies, but as luck would have it, we remained quite healthy up until the end of the season/playoffs.

I wouldn't call this a trap game, I would call this a must win game.
If we lose the series is as good as over, I just can't see us taking 4 out of 6 without home court especially with a team that is starting to become pretty plagued with injuries.

My prediction IF we win tonight, C's win the series in 6. If we lose tonight Hawks win the series in 5.

So lets win it! GO C'S!!

I do understand that. But I don't WANT Sully or Jerebko, Zeller, Lee, hardly ever playing. That's because I don't want them here next year. I'm not pro tanking and I admit we would NOT have this record without these guys.  But I would sacrafice wins in the short term to force feed Kelly, Rozier, Hunter, Young, And Mickey some minutes. We're just not close YET and I wish we were trying to build up assets. I think Kelly SHOULD top out at least as a sixth man candidate eventually and when I see him consistently coming in with like 3 minutes left in the 1st qtr it drives me nuts. In his place is a guy like Sullinger who has shown he can't be trusted to keep weight off. He just shouldn't be part of our future. ( That's just my opinion though. I've been wrong plenty of times.)
