Interesting. Four guys that I like slip to us at #16 in this mock, and we don't take any of them. I'd prefer any of Labissiere, Demetrius Jackson, Deyonta Davis, or Wade Baldwin over Chriss. Chriss and Lab are in a similar mold, and it seems silly to take Chriss there if Lab is available - he has way less upside, and probably just as much bust risk.

I like the Bender pick and I love Jeanne at 22. If we got Jeanne and Chriss I'd just pretend it went 16. Jeanne 22. Chriss and I'd be fine with that.

This is more my style as well.  My mock was very similar.  I guess I am a CBS guy. Same philosophy.  Take 2 long guys and a jerebko replacement at 16. I felt like i was reaching a bit.  CBS did a bit of a better job.  Go CBS. Boo Chad Ford.

Still praying for a top 2 pick!

Been running some mock lottery for three days now I can't believe what I've. Each day, Washington and/or Chicago has jumped to the top three, pushing us out to 6. Today and yesterday, it was Washington, both days on my very first try.

As someone else said in another thread, let's hope all these horrible scenarios happen now, so when it's the actual thing, it becomes our turn to get the top 2 pick!
I could very well see the Hawks... starting Taurean Prince at the 3, who is already better than Crowder, imo.

you vs. the guy she tells you not to worry about

I don't think many people realize that Skal is a bit on the older side for his class. He's already 20, while Chriss is just 18 and was much more productive in college.

That's fair. I like Skal better because he's so much longer, and because HS rankings are surprisingly predictive historically after factoring in college stats (that said, I like Jackson and Davis better than Skal). But there's a case to be made for Chriss with his youth + production. I guess if Ainge liked him enough to take him 16th I'd give him the benefit of the doubt.

Oh wow, I didn't know that about Skal's age

Skals wingspan is an inch longer if that

I am not crazy about Bender with our first pick so i am not sure about that one.  I think we are due for some luck so maybe we can get Simmons or Ingram but I don't think it is the end of the world if we get Brown, Murray, or Hield.  Hard to say which one of these will be the one but I think at least one of these will turn out to be very good (think Leonard or Butler).

After that:

#16  Diamond Stone
#23  Marquese Chriss
#31  Grayson Allen

Beyond that, who knows.  Go for some European player no one has ever heard of but has upside.

Tale of the tape:

                           Chriss                    Skal
HT WT                 6-9/225                  7-0/225
Reach                  8-9                         9-1
Wingspan             7-1                         7-2

Stone is really bad at finishing around the rim. He has good touch, but lacks lift and got his shot blocked a lot in college against smaller and less athletic opponents. Red flags for me.

Chriss won't slip that far unless it's off the court stuff. In fact, I expect him to rise after the combine.

Allen is returning to Duke.

I didn't know about Allen, no big.  As for the rest, you seem awfully sure about your scouting.  I willingly admit that I have no idea how any draft will turn out; no one does.  Even Simmons and Ingram could be anywhere from Durant to Beasley.  These that I have picked seem like players that could develop.

What this really shows is that if we add 3 or 4 rookies to the roster that are all about 19 years old, we are going to a very young team.  It takes minimum 2-3 years for any of these level rookies to develop or show they aren't going to develop.  Tough to see even Simmons or Ingram making us better next year.
