Keepers for next year

Maybe the playoffs will prove me wrong, maybe someone will step up. But, taking a hard look at this team, we don't have many guys worth keeping.

Rookies: They get a pass, as 1 year is to small a sample size to judge and we have them under contract.

Solid, bring it every night guys: Really only IT, AB and Crowder.

Inconsistant but worth keeping: Smart and KO

Bring back if we can't upgrade: Amir, Jerebko and Turner



If we can be a contender next year we have some real holes to fill.

The way I see it, the 2 main goals this offseason (a go to scorer and an upgrade at the 4 and 5) might be able to be filled with the same player. After that we really need some seasoned vets hopefully ones that can score or at least help us avoid these long periods of wetting the bed out there. a 3 and a 1 would be good.

I know we have a lot of picks and we have a lot of rookies. Someone might step up, but at this point, I think we need more help then relying on young players. However this playoffs turns out, no one can say that we didn't take a real step forward this year. We just need to take another one next year and without more help we really risk taking a step backwards next year.

I know it's not what we want to hear but team may have to sell on AB and IT if they can't make a splash in FA. Of course I'm not saying a cheap sell.

I'd much rather be a buyer than seller but if c's get swept it could be break up time.

I think the team needs to trade Isaiah this summer or sometime during the season.

His trade value will be as high as it is going to be. He has only 2 years left on his contract. With his gaudy scoring numbers, he'll probably be looking at a max contract. I don't think Isaiah is worth that and I do not want the team to pay him that. Isaiah's trade value will drop significantly once he gets into his final year especially given he is both an unrestricted free agent and also due a massive pay increase. So the best time to get good value for him is in the next 10 months.

So with that in mind, I do not think Isaiah is a keeper. I think he should be trade bait.

I 100% agree, I don't think it's possible to have a championship team with someone of I.T's size starting games, I think he could be the best 6th man in the league but like you said, if he's going to be a 6th man he can't be getting a max.

The question is who will trade us their star player and want I.T in return, the only team that comes to mind is Kings and there might be too much bad blood to make that happen.

Depends on what happens with trades, I don't think anyone is completely safe.

IT, Bradley and Crowder are the safest. Smart next. I see us re-signing ET and Sully and conserving our cap space for next season so I think they'll be safe.

Honestly I see KO as someone that can be filler in a trade for a star. Say a Cousins trade happens, I think KO goes the other way. He's special but just isn't consistent enough to be a reliable role player and not good enough to be a key starter. Zeller depends on the roster make up, I think he'll be decided on late in the summer.

Amir + JJ will be back unless they are used in a trade on draft night. That is the night they are most valuable to DA.

As much as I like the rookies and Young ultimately DA wouldn't hesitate to add them to a deal if it meant bringing back a legit star.

I like Who's idea: trading IT (possibly with a combo of our picks) for a player that could serve as a foundational piece for a contender would make a lot of sense.

Having said this, with the salary cap we have, the number of tradable players and that chest of draft picks, the possibilities are almost literally infinite; it will be an exciting summer for sure.

I think we have a lot of good players so all of them are worth keeping depending on pay. Any of them can go to bring in difference makers. At this point my guess is Crowder is the player that will be hardest to pry away from the C's. Good player on a a very good contract.

Beyond that, I'd move anyone in the right deal.

He isn't, in my view. At the top of my list of players to move.

I think IT4/Bradley/Smart/Crowder/Turner should be worth keeping

scoring and defense in the guard position is actually pretty strong. Smart and Bradley defends the perimeter VERY well. And IT4 as our only star, and best scoring option definitely is worth keeping

Crowder is a very good defender and ok scorer. Turner I am bringing back because I think he fits our system very well off the bench. In a scenario where Durant comes to Boston and Crowder becomes a bench player, Turner can slide to the 2 and Smart to the 1. (or vice versa, Smart at 2 and Turner at 1). In my opinion Turner type players is obtainable, but Turner himself already knows the system and just fits so well with the 2nd unit, that I'd spend some more money than he is actually worth to keep him.

PF/Center I think is upgradeable, and is expendable in my honest opinion. Sully in my opinion if he can be upgraded and used as a bench player.

He is weak, but he's a younger, better shooting Andreas Bargnani and that guy's played 10 years in the NBA.  You know what you've got with KO.  He's a seven footer who's on the floor to create space and knock down shots..
