offices of a company owned by billionaire owner of nets were raided by russian authorities over tax evasion-hope this doesn't effect his ownership of brooklyn
with philly trying to win along with lakers the nets could be in top 3 again-

Morning Rollie, nice thread.

tbh tho, I do not think it means much. I follow a bit Russian politics, and this police search was certainly politically motivated. Prokhorov has been getting in Putin's nose for some years now.

Prokhorov is well aware of this and has his assets secured in places where the Russian authorities cannot touch them.

For those interested, here's an article with the full story http://europe.newsweek.com/vladimir-putin-mikhail-prokhorov-brooklyn-nets-raid-offices-authorities-search-448074?rm=eu

tl;dr: no worries, it won't affect Brooklyn ownership.

i had a banker friend from boston but living in london, he was personally involved with boris berezovsky a billionaire oligarch hounded into exile to london by putin and a billionaire that died broke-
boris was once was partners with roman abranovich in russia who owns chelsea football club
boris was subject of book  godfather of kremlin
these guys all start meddling in politics have media companies that threaten putin-
seems politics is like russian roulette

i actually was concerned with his finances and a trickle down effect
might make him spend less in free agency
trade lopez and young for youngsters with cheap contracts etc--thanks

We'll know a lot more this summer after free agency. Either the Nets move Lopez and Young for picks/prospects and completely blow it up, or they keep those guys and try to sign a couple of FAs.

I expect them to do the latter. But I'd love to be wrong.
