The Warriors choked away a 14-point lead at home, got a terrible shooting game from KD and Westbrook, and still lost. But I'm sure that the outcome of the game was determined by an uncalled travel.
Nobody is saying that cost them the game entirely. But it's a little ridiculous that this is now the third close game that they've won where they've received obviously bad calls in their favor that had a big impact on the game. If that travel is called, then Golden State has the chance to tie with around a minute left to play.
It's wrong to say that that single play cost them the game, but it's also wrong to say that it didn't impact the game either.
The travel shouldn't have been called at all. Donovan called for a timeout as soon as they got the ball in the back court.
Doesn't matter if the refs don't see it. Westbrook is the one that got the timeout, meaning the ref was looking directly at the play, so they necessarily should've called the blatant travel beforehand.
Sure, as long as you agree they should've called Klay first for fouling Westbrook while he was driving up the court after Donovan called the timeout.
http://official.nba.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/4/2016/05/L2M-OKC-GSW-5-16-16.pdfLast Two Minutes Report says the Klay contact on Westbrook was a correct no call, but the travel by Westbrook was an incorrect no-call. So, yes, yet another game that the Thunder were unfairly advantaged by officiating incompetence.
To be fair, they also said there was a missed travel call on Steph, but that was with 7 seconds left with the game pretty much already decided.
The fact of the matter is that OKC has now had beneficial, game-altering wrong calls or blatantly missed calls in THREE of the last SIX games, all of which they won. It gets to a point where this is inexcusable..
