Statistics tell us that it all depends on who is sent to represent the team at the lottery.

I played draft lottery on ESPN one time and Celtics took Ingram with the 2nd pick. Minny took Simmons with the 1st pick.

How sweet would that be?

Not sweet at all, because Minny becomes a dynasty for the next decade in that scenario lol

If we stay at 3rd, the glass half full approach is to think that we have an equal shot at #1, #2 or #3. (This is true, 15.6% for each.)

The glass half empty view is that we're almost twice as likely to get #5 (27%) but who cares about that.

dont worry. they would screw things up sooner or later.
I believe Gandhi is the only person who knew about real democracy — not democracy as the right to go and buy what you want, but democracy as the responsibility to be accountable to everyone around you. Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.

I'd rather get the second so we can have a higher chance to get the first next year  ;D

Nearly every day I go on tankathon.com and simulate until I get a scenario in which the Celts get a top 2 pick and the Lakers lose their pick.
You’ll have to excuse my lengthiness—the reason I dread writing letters is because I am so apt to get to slinging wisdom & forget to let up. Thus much precious time is lost.

i posted this in another thread, but it works here as well.

since 1993, the #3 seed in the lottery has won the number pick more times than #1, 2, and 4 picks combined.

i like this fun fact.  ;D

Glad I'm not the only one who does this
I could very well see the Hawks... starting Taurean Prince at the 3, who is already better than Crowder, imo.

you vs. the guy she tells you not to worry about

This thread is like a lesson in gambler's fallacy.

Just because it's happened in the past doesnt mean its less or more likely to happen again. The odds are the odds.
