And there's this of our newest C:

NBA D-League: It's all good for Charge's John Holland
Canton is 20-4 since the 27-year-old wing player was added to the roster two days before Christmas. What a present he’s been.

    CANTON

Life in the NBA Development League will bring good times and bad.

        Unless you’re John Holland.

“You’ve got to go through ups and downs,” the Canton Charge guard said. “Luckily, I’ve just been here for the up.”

Indeed. It’s difficult to find much of anything negative about Holland or his two-plus months with the Charge.

Canton is 20-4 since the 27-year-old wing player was added to the roster two days before Christmas. What a present he’s been.

Holland is averaging 14.4 points, 3.1 rebounds, 1.8 assists and 1.3 steals while shooting 47.6 percent from the field and 84.1 percent from the foul line for the Charge. But stats don’t explain the little-flash, plentiful-substance Holland.

At 6-foot-5, 205 pounds, Holland has the size, athleticism and toughness to guard three positions. Offensively, he’s at his best slashing but has shot an acceptable 34.0 percent from 3-point range.

Since moving into the starting lineup, Holland has scored in double figures in 18 straight games.

Let head coach Jordi Fernandez count the ways Holland benefits the Charge.

“Consistency. Toughness. Defense. Everything,” Fernandez said. “That kid is the reason we’ve just kept moving up.”

The Charge have won 19 of their last 21 games and a franchise-record 12 straight games.

One NBA general manger told The Repository he believes Holland is the most NBA-ready player on the Charge’s current roster because of his defensive prowess.

Played at BU. Hometown boy makes good, gets a chance to join a pro roster. Probably not much of an impact for the rest of the season/playoffs.

No contract info, but I am betting it's a two-year min deal, with the second year fully non-guaranteed, meaning possible filler for a trade later (Draft Night or July).

We just signed John Holland to a Chris Babb type of contract. Google search says he is a psychic medium

A wing for playoff injury depth it looks like, and I suppose a summer league look.  If there's an injury at some point in the playoffs and he dresses ahead of James Young, that will be the final stake in Young's coffin.

Nice to see a BU player getting his chance in the NBA tho.  Go Terriers!

FWIW, he can't be draft-night filler.  He cannot be traded until 90 days from today, which extends beyond the draft.

Mid-July, then.

I believe Gandhi is the only person who knew about real democracy — not democracy as the right to go and buy what you want, but democracy as the responsibility to be accountable to everyone around you. Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.

I thought James Young was guaranteeing that.
