In order to get the 3 seed we must win our 2 games and Atlanta has to lose their 2 games, correct? What are the odds that this happens?

Probably closer to 1 in 16.  Depends a bit on how much Cleveland will rest in tonight's game.

Well I think Atlanta and Boston should both be favored in their remaining games. (Cavs are checked out till playofs imo)

If they were coin flips it'd be: .5^4 so 6.25%

Well there's only 9 scenarios that can play out.  :)

I really don't feel there's much of a chance whatsoever. The C's needed to win in Atlanta to have a real shot at securing the 3rd seed.

Yeah agreed.

Oh well, I just want the C's to get the 4 and/or avoid Atlanta in the first round.

Cavs can't rest this game. They are two games up on the Raptors with two games to go, and the Raptors own the tiebreaker. The Raptors play the Sixers and Nets their last two games. The Cavs don't want to risk losing home court advantage by blowing this one against the Hawks.

Interesting.  If the Cavs win we still have a chance at the 3 seed to avoid them in round 2, and if they lose they still have a chance at the 2 seed, which would also enable us to avoid them.

Great Point...If the Cavs lose they have the Pistons as their last game..which could prove as a spoiler..Raptors Play at the Nets..should be automatic W there..Could be real interesting... If Hawks lose that game they have to play at the Wizards which could give them some trouble. The Celts just need to do their part and win out....and then should be an interesting last day...

hmm yea they scare me the most. so if we get the 3 or 4 seed we most likely avoid Atlanta and Cleveland till the ecf?

Actually if nothing changes in the 1 through 3 seeds, if we end up as the 4th seed we get Cleveland in the 2nd round and if miraculously beat them we get either Atlanta or Toronto in the ECF, if there are no upsets.

If we win both games AND Toronto wins both games... We need the loser of Atlanta vs Cleveland to also lose their final game. That is the onlyv way to avoid Cleveland in the second round

I agree with this.

I'm not worried about potential 2nd round opponents, because mostly I just want to see the Celts win their 1st round series.  Accomplish that and they can head into the off-season with a good argument for free agency.  Anything beyond that is gravy.
