With the NCAA Tournament ending tonight has your thoughts on who the Celtics should draft.  I'm just looking at the three first round picks we have.  I'm thinking we'll end up packaging some of our previous rookies for players.  I think Rozier is getting time, because Ainge might have reached for this kid and looking to get a return.  So I could see Rozier, Young and a couple 2nd rounders getting package together for a player or future picks since we have I believe 4 2nd rounders.

Brooklyn's 1st (Who I'd take in order)
1. Ben Simmons
2. Brandon Ingram
3. Buddy Hield
4. Jaylen Brown

Dallas's 1st (Falling between 12-15)
1. Skal Labissiere
2. Thon Maker (If eligible just declared.  He's a project but with all our picks we have a chance to do this and if he develops right we have a star.)
3. Jakob Poeltl
4. Timothe Luwawu (Stash for a use or trade later)

Boston's 1st (Falling between 21-25)
1. Thon Maker (If eligible just declared.  He's a project but with all our picks we have a chance to do this and if he develops right we have a star.)  This also depends where teams are talking about him but I'd be taking a chance at Dallas's pick, but if on board still here he's #1.
2. Denzel Valentine
3. Damian Jones
4. Diamond Stone
5. Taurean Prince

I was thinking about doing the same OP,TP. I got the top 10 as

Ingram, highest potential right now
Simmons, highest production early
Heild, best shooter
Murray, best skills combination
Lab, highest upside from those remaining
Sabonis, best system following player.
Brown, most NBA body with upside.
Rabb, good combo of upside and skill.
Dunn, second best skills combination
Poeltl, best pure Center can play day 1.

Sabonis went up the most. Peoltl and Dunn suffered the most. Lab had a good game 1 but 2nd game they went small and he went unused. So I am still high on what Lab could become if used better. I also didn't rate Bender. I haven't seen him play in months now. I think the lower part of draft and the second round is what is changing. Less International guys mocked in and more experienced NCAA men are getting in now.

Tp, that's a really good list. I might disagree with the order of some of the names but I agree with all the names you listed. I would however add some guys to your lists who we could possibly pick.

Jamal Murray should be in the mix for the Brooklyn pick.

DeVante Davis and Ivan Rabb are good options with the Dallas pick. I'd also consider Valentine if the Dallas pick ends up being at 16.

With our pick I think we go best available draft & stash unless they move a young guy like Young.
DKC:  Rockets
CB Draft: Memphis Grizz
Players: Klay Thompson, Jabari Parker, Aaron Gordon
Next 3 picks: 4.14, 4.15, 4.19

Simmons not leading LSU to the Tournament def bumped him to #2 for me. Hield moved up a ton for me. I'm a huge Sabonis fan, I was pre Tournament but he's climbed even higher for me. Same with Prince and Chriss. I still like Bender. I feel like if he's there after 3, you gotta take him.

Top 5 is Ingram, Simmons, Bender, Hield, Brown.

2 perfect draft scenarios (at 4, 12ish, 22ish) would be Bender, Chriss, and Zizic or Hield, Luwawu, and Sabonis. Both scenarios offer a first round draft and stash and 2 keepers.

Thon Maker is intriguing. I suppose it would all depend on where he's gonna get drafted.

1 - Simmons  ... I'm still on board.  He's gonna wreak havoc if he's given space.  See: Giannis.
2- Ingram ... I think his ceiling is lower than Simmons but his skillset is tantalizing.

#3 is where things get tough.  I'm not sold on Bender; too much bust potential, not enough track record against good competition.

Brown needs another year of college and as is presents too great a risk unless he falls into the latter part of the top 10.

So then you've got Murray, Hield, Dunn as probably the best talents available after the top 2.

Poeltl has great role player potential and will be solid from day one but may never be much more.  Ellenson looks like another Julius Randle type to me.

I guess I'd go something like

3 & 4 -- Murray / Hield ... hard to choose between
5 & 6 -- Dunn / Poeltl ... depends on your team needs / weaknesses
7 & 8 -- Bender / Brown ... here is where I'd take a risk on one of them
9 - 14 -- Ellenson, Davis, Rabb, Luwawu, Criss, Sabonis  .... A bunch of PF /C prospects and an international wing.  No clear cut choices here.

Am I the only one who would be extremely disappointed if Danny drafted Murray with our Brooklyn pick??? What is it with Chad Ford??

Murray gives no effort on defense. James Young can't defend anyone, Julius Randle doesn't play defense, looks like it's trending in Kentucky.

I'll take Hield. Winning attitude, would fit right in here.

No to Sabonis .

If can't get top two or three , ,then trade picks and players for a current top talent player .

What's trending at Kentucky is guys are taught how to maximize their draft stock, not how to play team basketball.

No in general tournament fueled draft board rises end up being reaches. Body of work for the whole season plus their overall talent is the way to go.

That's what I would want as a prospect. And that's why I love Kentucky.

Not sure I agree with that (although I don't agree what the previous poster said about Hield). Kentucky's players the previous year all sacrificed a lot of individual acclaim in order to achieve a lot through team basketball.

The way Murray consistently ran hard off screens shows that he knows how to play team basketball. Even when he didn't get himself open for shots, him running through picks hard freed other teammates.

In general it just seems to me with Kentucky prospects, a lot of guys get drafted because of their talent and high profile of the team, but many of them seem to struggle for a while in the league before carving out a solid role because Kentucky is just a finishing school for elite prospects.

You don't see many quality role players come out of Kentucky.

Even a guy like AD puts up amazing numbers but he doesn't seem to have the kind of impact on the team that you'd expect (despite acknowledging that the players around him have been atrocious due to injuries).
