Smart literally can't buy calls... That's part of the issue with his fg %

Refs swallowed their whistles for the Celtics...

Jerebko needs to do a better job at setting his feet

Smart seriously can't buy a foul underneath can he? He even pump faked into the guy with no call

Scelts,

Same story different year.

I guess we will get to hear the same story next year from the Smart apologists.

You put Smart on the court were he has to produce and you can't hide him and he will get exposed. He's only able to get good plus minus because of the players he's on the court with. The whole plus minus is flawed.

It's not so much being apologists.  It's about not forming conclusions on a player who is just in his 2nd year of the league.

Maybe he never improves.  But if you gave up on every player who didn't play well offensively in their first two years in the league, you'd be giving up on a lot of really good players.  Chauncy Billups, Kyle Lowry, Jeff Teague to name a few just off the top of my head.

But keep beating the same drum.  If you don't back up your statements with decent arguments, don't expect to convince anyone.

I also agree that +/- by itself is a flawed stat.  But like other stats, it can be used in conjunction with others to provide valuable assessments of players.

I love when Smart plays within his role, he can be so so valuable when he's not trying to do too much.

Scelts,

Smart's bad shooting is on an entirely different level.

  • Sometimes there's no sane reason for optimism
Love the 'Boston Sucks' chants.

The thing with the Cs is they always act like they are the underdogs and have something to prove. They came out tonight and were having an easier time than usual so they stopped playing hard. What they have to realize is that they are now a team against whom other teams will give their best.
