Yes, Sully had a great game against a premiere opponent, but I’m not surprised. Imagine if he could keep his weight under control, and stay healthy this would be just a little about his average. It’s a contract year, Right?
All the Sully fans hoping to lock him up for a long term deal, will regret it when he comes back next fall over weight. It’s a shame because he’s extremely talented and plays the PF just like you’d draw it up. And when he’s on can stretch the floor too. I mean what else can you ask for?
I’m all for signing Sully at a value, but I’d rather go another route if DA can’t. First, I’d like to see DA upgrade the position via trade or FA. If he can’t then sign someone else who’s slightly less talented or productive but will stay “HEALTHY” and use the extra cap space elsewhere.
I try not to fall for players in their contract year, because usually they are playing above their average. Sully’s average was last year, when he did have something to play for. But he only decided it was important to get himself in shape (I use the term “shape” lightly) for a bigger contract.
Anyone remember Mark Blount?
