How good is the jump-shot?

Any numbers on how many shots he has hit outside of 10 feet this season?
And what percentage he has shot on them?

Who, I've seen a lot of him and range on his jumper is a concern, however he looks good when taking them and they go in when he shoots them.

He's one of those bigs that doesn't want to shoot a shot unless he knows it's going in .614% fg this year on 17ppg.

His ft% is encouraging as well .708% career and an awesome .785% ft this year for a 6'9" pogostick is a great sign.

His elbow jumpshots could be very good if encouraged, but he just loves the action down low. Tommy would love him!

Brice Johnson likely won't be more than a 15-17 ft shooter.

Why does every big 3 need to be able to make the 3 anyways??  It's a luxury , not a necessity

How many bigs in the NBA can shoot the three?  Aldrige can't,  Deandre Jordan can't  etc.  Some can when they are wide open but many can't like Draymond Green or Kelly Olynyk.

Johnson biggest issue being able to play in the NBA will be his weight/strength.   Teams will want to see how he does at tests/strength tests etc.

From what I have seen he has been able to hold his ground and actually move bigger players.   VS first 2 years in college was pushed around left and right.

I think it largely depends upon what Denver, Philly, Boston and Phoenix do with their multiple 1st round picks.  As it stands now, he is a long shot to be a first round pick, because several late first rounders will be used for draft and stash - there just aren't enough roster spots for all of those teams to use all of their picks on college players.  The more of those picks that end up getting traded, the better chance he has of being selected in round 1.

Personally, I think he is a mid-second round talent, but all it takes is for one team to like you and you are a first rounder.  I'd rather the Celtics not take him, regardless of where.  He is a garbage man in the NBA and nothing more.  Mickey does everything Brice can do and then some.  Jordan's greatest strength is this team's biggest weakness (rim protection), and he still can't get minutes.

I see Johnson having a career similar to a lot of skinny, athletic post players.  He'll rot at the end of someone's bench; he'll have a dunk or two and block a shot during garbage time and fans will say he needs to play more.  Opposing fans will say "we need to trade for him because of what he did against our D-Leaguers".  He will be a throw-in in two or three trades (with the new team's fans having huge hopes for him each time).  In 10 years he will have had a long career hanging around the league with no accomplishments to his name.

talk about being negative to the max lol.    And no Johnson won't go mid 2nd

Likely 20-25 for now and if he single handedly helps the tar heels win the next game, maybe a few spots higher than that

Brice Johnson vs Brandan Wright

Who do you like better?

Johnson does not have crazy long wingspan but why do some say he is undersized for a PF?

He shoots from the free throw line to top of key a fair amount of pops out of the post or after setting a pick if the roll is covered.

Sadly I don't know of sites that track outside shooting in college that are public.

I think he'd be very good value in the 20s, but I don'd think I'd go much higher. But who knows, NBA draft picks are a creature of workouts in that range.

He takes pride in rebounding, which this team needs more of. When Olynyk and Jerebko were our bigs on the floor against the Lakers, it was extremely frustrating to observe their lack of effort and rebounding discipline. This is a trend that extends beyond a single game.
You are no longer black, or brown, or yellow, or red! You are now GREEN, you are light GREEN, or dark GREEN!

We could use a top level rebounder on the team for sure

I think he goes in the 18-22 range.

Looking at player comps john Henson went 14, faired 22 and Jujuan Johnson went 27. All where upperclassmen big men with similar physical tools.
