Has anyone seen Maker or/and Bender play an actual game and not just a couple of youtube highlights?

There is no point in Boston selecting another guard, so I guess that means I would probably take Brown or Poeltl, but if those are the options, I would really prefer a trade (and not necessarily for a star, but a drop back wouldn't be bad for someone that wants one of the guards).
2023 Historical Draft - Brooklyn Nets - 9th pick

Bigs - Pau, Amar'e, Issel, McGinnis, Roundfield
Wings - Dantley, Bowen, J. Jackson
Guards - Cheeks, Petrovic, Buse, Rip

Only that Nike Hoop Summit game. He wasn't that impressive. Flashes of talent but overall a sub-par performance. It was on offense that he struggled the most. Peripheral.

I'd prefer to trade the pick if those are our options.

if we can pick up an all-star player (at least someone who's in the discussion for the all-star team for more than just a couple of seasons), I'd probably pull the trigger.

The only player that looks like they could step in and play next year is Hield.  Adds to the backcourt glut we have.  If he showed he could play D, could make AB expendable in a trade for better wing depth or a C.
Murray could be a real find by the time AB is off his current deal and make him a trade asset at that point.
either player would likely push out Young/Hunter in a small deal.

Brown has potential and would fill in nicely at SF in a couple of years if he pans out but that's a big if.

Since we're looking to continue to improve next year, would definitely stick with trying to move that pick (even if Bender slid to 4).

If Bender slid I think he should be someone we take. It's basically our ideal scenario outside of a trade for PAul George/Demarcus Cousins. A high level talent that won't take up a roster spot next year. I have confidence that we can attract a max FA to Boston if we feel they are the right fit so we will be on the up anyway, having Bender come over in a year or two as a more developed player could be incredible.

My wish list is Murray, Hield or Poeltl at the top of the draft, Sabonis or Zizic with the next pick.

I am only asking because especially for those two nobody here has a true feeling about their abilities and potential and yet some here are very vocal about drafting them and i can`t understand why.......

I don`t think that they are very happy in Orlando with  Hezonja and the guy played in ACB for Barcelona while Bender is a 6ppg player playing for the average(at best) Maccabi against very poor competition. And you are willing to draft him 3rd ?in that case Dumars would look like a genious for drafting Milicic !

I've always had the opinion that you draft a guy based on what they will become by the end of their rookie contract not what they do to start the contract.

I doubt Orlando expected anything from Hezonja this year and thus aren't disappointed.

If this year's pick was #4 I'd trade that for Hezonja in a heartbeat. He's going to be a special player in this league.

I`m not saying that Hezonja is a bust (altough i don`t think high of him). My point is that he came as a seasoned as he could have been playing for Barcelona in the second best league in the world. He had to play against top players , he trained with top players. Of course he didn`t come a a ready player but came as ready as he could have been.

Bender plays average bball , for an average team against poor competition. How can anyone want to draft him that easy ? Imho the risk with this guy is huge and i don`t think that Ainge can afford a bad selection with the Nets pick.

I voted Murray.  I know there's not much room for him this minute, but I subscribe to best player available, especially at the top of the draft, and to me that's Murray.  I'd strongly consider taking him 3rd but for the fact I value saving $4 million in cap space by stashing Bender.

  • I'm a Paul Heyman guy.
I will take Jaylen Brown.

He had a bad Tournament, but I still believe there's a lot of raw materials in him to be molded into a great two way player.

His length and size are perfect for small ball lineups as well. He needs work, but I think I'd be happy to put the work with him if I'm Boston.
2019 CStrong Historical Draft 2000s OKC Thunder.
PG: Jrue Holiday / Isaiah Thomas / Larry Hughes
SG: Paul George / Aaron McKie / Bradley Beal
SF: Paul Pierce / Tayshaun Prince / Brian Scalabrine
PF: LaMarcus Aldridge / Shareef Abdur-Raheem / Ben Simmons
C: Jermaine O'neal / Ben Wallace

I think he's riding high on the Porzingis effect right now.  he might be good, he might not.  if he's at 4 and some team would like to send us a proven all-star-quality player for him, that would suit me fine.

Probably Murray, but I'd have to think long and hard about Hield.
