Denzel Valentine. Or Oscar Robinson light. How about these numbers.

 19.2ppg 7.8 apg 7.5 rpg .462 fg% .444 3p% .853 ft%
  .579 efg%

I mean wow. Much like Ainge took Rozier last year even though we didn't need him, I take Valentine this year. With the Dallas pick is fine for me.

The great thing about Denzel is he can play small foward, shooting guard, and point guard. He'd be one of the best shooters on our team and his defense is good overall, a big step forward this year best defender on his team.

Michael Jordan's binkie won it last year.

As per Draft Express:

"While Valentine doesn't look scared to mix things up on the glass, he's an extremely poor defender that needed to be hidden constantly at the college level in order to not emerge as a liability. While somewhat of a combo guard offensively, he's best suited guarding small forwards who don't have much in the way of ball-handling ability or explosiveness on the other end. His lateral quickness is very poor, he doesn't cover ground well, and his effort really comes and goes, as he often looks fairly lazy closing out on shooters or trying to keep his man in front. Valentine relies heavily on reaching and grabbing his man to try and slow him down, which simply will not work at the NBA level."

Way to p*ss off Buddy Hield two days before the Final Four starts. Methinks somebody on the committee has Oklahoma winning it all. :D

Yenohb,

Great points on Valentine.

He is probably best suited as a stretch 4 because of his lack of quickness but he's just too short.

I see him stuck between positions.

As do I, but I also thought Draymond Green was stuck between positions and would never be more than a role-player

Valentine strikes me as the type that will stick around a decade or longer in the NBA as a rotation/role player.

That's not meant to be a knock on him by any means.

Since this award ignores the tournament, it's justifiable.

Girls unquestionably had the better overall season. The Tournament should matter.

Would love him with the Dallas pick as an Evan Turner replacement if ET wants too much money.

If Marcus can't fill the ET role next year I'm not going to feel good about the season.

Disagree completely. That's why you can't just go off reports and you actually have to watch whole Gabe's for yourself.

He often guarded the best player on the other team on top of getting triple doubles.

He's not the most athletic player you have ever seen if he was he'd be a top three pick.  He's got a 6'10" wingspan and he's an extremely smart defender.

if you watch this video, his weaknesses are hard to argue. There are glaring holes in his game on both ends. Based on this, his best role in the NBA is a spot up shooter.

you can say that he guards the best player on any given night, but in the NBA, an average or below average guy in the NBA was the best player in college.

That paragraph lost me in the first sentence. Doesn't look scared on the glass? Yeah no crap he avg 7.5 rebounds per game! Better than some power fowards.

He also didn't look scared passing with 7.8 Apg better than most point guards, and he didn't look scared scoring either at almost 20 ppg. Yeah he does it all.
