And double congrats because now, you won't be getting traded.

This latest "run" of success will fool the Kings into keeping their "rotten" core together again.

(Rotten, of course being hyperbole)

It's already happening.  They just gave Vlade Divac a multi-year extension.

You predict that he will get traded?  This summer?

I meant that the Kings "keeping their core" has already started, by them rewarding Vlade.

I don't know if he gets traded unless he absolutely demands it.  To date, he has been extremely loyal, to the detriment of his career.
Agreed on this one. Cousins acts out but he is a Team guy by all inside accounts. He just lacks self control at times. We see the same from Smart who is a big team guy. Kings will look to trade their high pick for a good player and FA target Ryan Anderson.
Not sure who they could get for their pick without giving up something else of value.  The pick is mid-lottery in a low-quality draft.  Anderson would make sense for them next to Cousins.  the question is, since Anderson could help a number of teams why would he choose the mess in Sactown?

Oh ok.  Yeah, it's too bad too.  I think he escapes after he is no longer dominant.

I reckon Vlade Divac's new contract is a sign that Sacramento will trade Cousins this summer and will allow Vlade to rebuild the team in his own way.

Some of Vlade's comments recently have been non-committal about Cousins' future with the Kings. That Sacramento gave him a new deal .... I think shows they are moving forward with Vlade and his vision of the team rather than continuing to trust and build around Cousins.

8 pick is a high pick (right now) not low quality. Just look at all the guys taken in that 6-11 range. Anderson likes California and he wants $ Kings can do both.

Uh, growing up a Kings fan in Sacramento area and already saying he wouldn't mind playing there?

Vlade getting a multi year extension as a GM has to be one of the dumbest moves I've seen an organization make in professional sports.

But winning 30 has probably seduced his mind into keeping the Boog...maybe that's why he got the extension in the first place...Vivek got seduced too!!

It's almost comical.  He didn't know how a trade call with the league worked.  He didn't know about D-League eligibility rules.  He wasn't responsive to other GMs.  He wildly overpaid to gain cap space, when he could have just used the stretch provision.  He didn't have control over the team or coaching staff, nor did he hold sway over ownership.

I like Vlade on a personal basis, but as a GM he was terrible.  Worse, he didn't have anybody on staff to help him, which is just mind boggling.

LOL.  :)

I kinda thought the same thing ....pretty quick .....he is in over his head .

snooping on Kings forums ...I sure don't see the over whelming enthusiasm to keep Boogie locked up in a cage there much longer.
Seems now ....a majority want to start fresh .

Boogie man ....not wants .....but needs a new team .

He needs a new city, new team, new coach in the right mgmt environment .
I think he ll be OK

It's going to be hilarious if they luck into a lotto win this year and have to turn it over to Philly because they couldn't think of another way to sign Rondo to a 1 year deal.

Half of that is anti-Kings narrative. Mike Bratz, a seasoned executive, assists Vlade. Stretching want going to allow for the Kings to pursue their first choices in FA, the Sixers swaps likely won't come into play. He wasn't allowed to hire his coach, that's true. I don't see it as a fault he's had Boogie's back over Karl's

Why do you find comfort on what happens to other teams?

Even if the unlikely happened, like it's set in stone Ingram/Simmons will have a better career than Hield or whoever

I see Vlade as the kind of GM who will overvalue Cousins in a trade and insist on monster value coming back, while making really bad deals involving the rest of the roster, so the way to exploit him being a bad GM may be to focus on any non-Cousins trades.

If try to land some unprotected future picks. I like Casspi, too. I don't think they'd be dumb enough to trade WCS.

Otherwise, the cupboard is pretty bare.
