I am irrationally optimistic about the upcoming match-up with Golden State.

Golden State is undefeated at home and we are in the midst of probably our second worst stretch of basketball all season.

But...

Jae is a competitor, Marcus is a competitor, Isaiah is a competitor, I believe Jared Sullinger lives for big games.

When building this team Danny looked for guys with a chip on their shoulder. Guys who get p---ed off. Guys who, when the going gets tough, rise to the occasion.

Jae is coming back from a sprain, Smart is playing through the worst slump of his career, the team is stumbling and now everyone is starting to doubt them again and I think this team has the character to come roaring back and immediately launch itself into its best stretch of basketball this year right into the playoffs.

Could be irrational, but I think this team feeds off being counted out. I think we will learn if they really have that strength of character in the next few weeks.

TP for optimism. I'm also hopeful that we can knock off golden state. We went to 2ot against them, granted they didn't have klay but we also didn't have smart. I think, if jae returns vs Portland, that we will be competitive against golden state. Let's break that home streak!

This team does surprise at times when you least expect it. I believe that comes from the attitude and belief the players have. A player can't play better than he is able, even in the context of being a part of a team. Full credit to Stevens for getting players to perform as well as they are able so consistently.

I think we have the sort of team and coach who will keep rising to the challenges ahead.

Those games weren't historic blowouts and the team showed some grit in getting swept. There's also no way to know how it might have turned out if Isaiah wasn't damaged goods at the time.
