This year how many times do you think Smart had dropped at least 15 points. When he does we almost always win.

I would jump for joy if he could avg 15 ppg when he hits his prime. Who can teach him to be crafty?

Got it! Paul Pierce, let's higer him as Smart's offensive coach.

I'm more worried about his efg. If he was 2 for 4 every night and averaging 10pts I would be good with that from the 22 yearold.

10 points on 4 FG would be all-NBA efficient.  If be good with that from any player in a nightly basis, regardless of age.

Not impossible but do-able considering the low attempts could equal very high level shot selection. But I don't see a hint of that from Smart  :-[

I can't check for all the games, but there is at least one instance where this claim does not hold:

January 31, L against Magic, Smart scored 26

Curry is scoring 1.5 points per FG attempt and you want Smart to score 2.5 points per FG attempt?  Talk about lofty expectations.

The Celtics are 7-4 in games where Smart scores 15 or more points.

So, if The Oracle is correct, when Smart makes 15 or more our PCT is 0.636; for the whole of the season it is 0.589.

I'd like to believe, but this does not seem statistically significant (and an 11 game sample is probably too small anyway to draw conclusions).

So Cs should let Smart shoot 7-22 every game so he can get 15 points.

Nonsense.  This is CelticsBlog, where no sample size is too small!
I'm bitter.

The Celtics are 7-1 in games where Smart has 3 or more turnovers, and this is actually hard to believe but the C's are 18-6 in games that he attempts at least five 3 pointers.  Small sample sizes can yield some crazy results.

2-5 from 2
1-3 from 3
3-4 free throws

That gets you 10 points on 8 attempts.

37.5-33-75 shooting percentages.

If Smart could average that for a whole season he'd be in OK shape.  I'd be plenty pleased with that.

Next step up from there

3-7 from 2
1-3 from 3
3-4 free throws

Now we're at 12 points on 10 attempts.

40-33-75.

Hallelujah.
